" Exactly. The internet ruined arpg's. Take me back to Diablo 1 days. These kids are running around screaming the game is not hard while copy and pasting broken builds they found on youtube. The game would be a bit more challenging if you went in blind and built your own character. And a lot more fun as well. Because thats where the fun in an arpg lies is making your build.
Purely anecdotal here but my journey into the third Act has been incredibly fulfilling. I haven't looked at any builds, just followed my own corny high fantasy intuitions and I'd make accommodations to my build by not being conservative with my orbs on gear, grind a bit when the occasion called for it, and through these devious devices I was able to trounce everything up to Act III. It wasn't easy but it felt fair and organic. The efforts on balancing the game to achieve such an endeavor really has shown in my experience. They knocked this out of the park.

" Absolutely well said brother. If you stop watching build guides and stopped being laser focused on 'blasting' all content in the game like your favorite youtuber and calling everything that killed you a balance issue or bad game design you might actually have fun. Go in blind. Become immersed in the game and the world they crafted for you and enjoy the game.
And peeps are really sleeping on the world they built, or just beelined right past it to the end game. The voice acting, the soundtrack, the world building, the environments, just some bonafide, delicious gothic horror. I'd kiss the artists on this if I could.

" Yeah act 2 is a literal masterpiece the first time I played through it I was so immersed especially with the caravan and the mal nourished slaves hauling it. Never seen anything like it in any arpg ever. Can't wait to see the final 3 acts Imagine wanting to be able to beat the campaign in 2 hours because the story doesn't matter. lol. Yeah the story in LE doesn't matter because theres nothing to see. No art direction. Just a neon slab of purple paint all over the place like every single modern audience game nowadays.
If we can meet somewhere in the middle between what we have now and what OP describes we will have a fantastic game that a lot of people will enjoy for a long time.

" Ppl are not sleeping on it... the "world they built" was and still is highly praised. The new lore we got, the environmental details, the NPC/enemy/boss design... all of that is well received by the community. The criticism is not directed at the artists; it's directed at everyone besides the artists. So, ppl praising the "art/lore" doesn't mean the "mechanics" are good. [Removed by Support]

" Well then they're doing it somewhere else because I seldom see it here lol. |

"Then open your eyes. Not only don't you find post about "lore/art bad", if you go back a bit, you find many ppl praising it. Obviously not recently because there weren't changes in this department, thus ppl talked about it when it was fresh, but it's the vast majority of ppl who think it's good (art/lore). Well, some ppl argue about details in the lore, but that's more with a "nerdy" nature than saying it's not good. [Removed by Support] Последняя редакция: JakkerONAIR#4902. " You're making my point for me, by insisting I have to go and look for it. At any rate though at least we agree on it being a prodigy of gothic horror. |
