Feedback on current season prior to 0.2.0g
For context, I have gotten an amazon huntress to level 71 using rake and spearfield liberally (thanks, ZiggyD!) but ehhh... it's been a mixed bag and ultimately I'm gonna step away for a few weeks and wait to see where it goes. I also wasn't there for the apparently "bad" first 1-2 days of DotH.
For context I've played a fair amount of PoE1 since 2018 so I know what to expect, and got multiple characters to endgame in poe2 previously. The good: - New lore snippets and dialog here and there (I don't remember the Sekhema trial obelisks prior to this, I don't remember Dannig talking about the triskelion flame, and Atalui definitely has some new dialog). - Amazon stuff feels good to play, particularly the rhythm you can get into with disengage. - Spearfield absolutely demolishes anything that moves - Some of the new mobs seem fun, so it's nice to have some variety - Various visual glitches like vultures disappearing on stairs in Act 2 spires appear to be gone so good work on all that The not good: - Normal campaign was a borderline miserable experience in terms of all forms of loot. I barely got any exalts and spent most of normal using gear I got at the start of act 1. I still don't have capped ele resistances. - DPS was miserable until after Jamanra and the first ascendancy, then Cruel it picked up further but wow it felt like a slog. - Spearfield is useless against anything that stands still. I realize it's a hazard and that's the point but, idk, it seems off because mobile and static mobs are mixed with one another. - Rake and the player character have issues pathing around the environment. - I've been using the same spear in maps since acts and trying to craft an upgrade to suit this build has been extremely difficult. Coupled with miserable drops it's not easy to just go and buy one either. - Is the wisp stuff meant to give decent rewards? I've not seen anything good drop at all. - The map screen in acts seems to take a significant amount of time to render now. The stuff that has made me quit (for now): - Maps are miserable. I didn't want to keep a timer but it feels like I've been spending half an hour minimum per t1 map with next to zero mods. - My damage is awful and monsters feel tanky, particularly in maps but in general the whole campaign was like this. - Why are these maps so huge? Something is off with the design and I can't quite place it, but the worst tileset that I've seen by far is Blooming Fields. - Random disconnections causing rollback of a couple of minutes of progress on said maps, sometimes killing portals entirely. Bye loot, bye exp. Sigh. - The corrupted map mod should be taken behind a shed - trying to chew through tanky mobs only for *more* tanky mobs to just join in? I'm not a young person, I do not want to get RSI. - Please just get rid of the shroud walker rare mod. In general I'm positive about PoE2 and I don't envy the devs in the slightest, but urgh that was not a pleasant leaguestart. I am retroactively glad that I avoided playing DotH day one, but even then if it was somehow *worse* than the above then I can understand why people were upset. Last bumped20 апр. 2025 г., 14:32:03
