[IDEA] Atlas Passive Tree affect campaign. (and some other thoughts)
Pretty straight-forward idea for dealing with the "campaign is boring to run back" crowd without having to destroy it for those of us enjoying the campaign.
The Core Idea - Have the Atlas Passive Tree affect follow-up characters' campaign. - Every zone could be treated as if they were a way-stone/map. - Adds difficulty and variety to run-backs while also improving the complexity. The Nitty-Gritty Obviously some of the Atlas tree would have lesser/no effect on the campaign, such as more way-stone drops or explicit effect modifiers for way-stones, people could re-spec these or just not worry about them. Having things like boss difficulty and more of the random mechanics happening through the campaign might open up some exploits of the smaller loot pools, not sure what to do about that but there are definitely solutions to be had. Ideally this would not only help people who dislike the campaign have a bit more spice for re-rolling in hardcore (assuming they made it to endgame), but it might also encourage people to roll new characters and classes to try different builds on a more casual basis. The Unrelated - I'm really enjoying the 0.2.0 update after the basic changes. - I think the speed changes were good, but have also neutered a large number of enemies to where you can strafe-walk away from them and they can't do a thing about it. further monster pack tuning would probably help with this in future updates. - Please add "monsters:" type to map nodes in endgame so we can get used to what types of enemies come from which type of monsters on waystones that add packs (Faridun, Vaal, Undead etc.) - Tiered gear in endgame seems redundant, maybe this system could be reworked to give different value based on rarity. (Magic items could cut off more low tier rolls, Rare could offer more rolls but cut off less lower tiers) - A node on the Atlas tree to allow for double (or even triple) rogue exile encounters would be super fun.
