In our time, in the 21st century, there’s a troubling trend of romanticizing evil—for example, anime like The Devil Is a Part-Timer! or in-game classes like warlocks, witches, and so on. Why is this dangerous? In real life, when we encounter, say, a witch, we know there’s no such thing as a "good witch," and what they do is harmful. But when you see a witch for hours every day—one who doesn’t do evil, saves the world, and might even be a very positive character—for some people (theoretically, any of you), the line between real evil and fictional, glorified evil can blur in the subconscious. For instance, you might develop an interest in black magic, and that’s genuinely dangerous. So, if you understand what I’m talking about, try to play our beloved game as warriors, huntresses, etc. These are also interesting and well-designed classes in terms of gameplay. " Nah, other way around. By definition, a warrior or soldier is someone who does violence for a living; the only exceptions being those who learn martial arts and simply do it for sport, though arguably such a person isn't strictly a warrior, they're just larping as one. Witches though, are largely just people who follow a different religion to you and are only harmful in the ways that most religions can be harmful, which is the danger of convincing people to try to heal sicknesses with prayer instead of actual medicine. |
