Increased Item Rarity Is a "Mystery Affix" and it shouldn't be.

From patch to patch, league to league, "Increased Item Rarity" does something different. It is completely unparseable whether you need it or not, or how it's even affected your drops.

No other mechanic in the game is this unnecessarily inscrutable. I know what 55-65 thorns damage does. I even know what +1000 armor does, in theory.

"Increased Item Rarity" needs to be changed so that players can actually understand how it is affecting or has affected their drops. As it stands, from league to league, you don't know if you are "missing out" by dropping it from your gear or not. This creates a very bad player mentality in the long run, when it comes to "mandatory items" being used, as we saw in affliction league where everyone was running identical MF gear on every single build.

This mod should read "Increased currency quantity".

REmove it from game
I swear, literally every design choice that made PoE1 better was completely ignored while PoE2 was being developed.

Like... dozens of problems in PoE2 have ALREADY BEEN SOLVED, yet here we are, looking at item QUANTITY being part of item rarity.

WE HAVE FUCKING SNAPSHOTTING AGAIN.

I cannot fathom a developer that so blatantly ignores the lessons they've learned.

1 map I got 3 ex, the other 0 with same rarity.

It should go completely. It's yet another anti fun mechanism. Botch your build intentionally so you can feel a little less like a poor peasant.

+1 to that. Loot stats on gear has so many cascading design problems.
for some reason 99% of loot i find is crap, i always have to trade for my stuff

Magic find should not effect currency drops but it does
Magic find should only effect 'quality' of drops but it does more then that, is allows some items to be in the 'drop pool' which normally would not be there.

I personelly would prefer it to be removed and the 'drop pool' be the same for everyone.
Throw it out.
Together with the MF

MF makes builds that require less stat easier find gear that is already easier to find (cause it requires less stats), and make this into a spiral/ loop. Also it's easier to balance the loot if you don't have to take into acount how much MF players have.

Or if you want MF make it only on maps/ tablets
Or potentialy on a special item such as a figurine

There would be 6 figurines. 1 for each stat, and 1 for each double stat.
So they would have an implicit mode to help search gear related to that stat.
And rare figurine could have up ot 3 prefix and suffix.

Some of the possible mods of figurine:
- +X% to general magic find
- +X% to waystone find
- +X% to weapon related to a stat
- +X% to weapon type
- +X% to armor related to a stat
- +X% to armor with mods for armor/ evasion/ ES
- +X% to item with a certain stat (like resistances)
- +X% to jewelery
- +X% to jewels
- +X% to rarity of currency
