Chaos Orbs should be easier to get than Exalts

If you apply an Exalt on an item, you are guaranteed that the result is at least as powerful as the input item. This is not true for Chaos Orbs. They can actually make your item much worse.

Even more so. The better the original item is, the more likely the result will be worse rather than better.

Annulment Orbs needed to be rarer than Exalts because Annulment can be used to "downgrade" an item to a lower tier and allow you to do more crafting on it and apply a good affix. This is not true for Chaos Orbs.

Don't disagree at all.

In fact, why don't we go a step further: Just bring back Chaos Orbs from POE1. Completely rerolls the rare. Then swap the drop rarity of exalts & chaos. Problem solved.

It's almost like POE1 was a well designed game with good crafting options that players enjoyed.

Just like trials, we didn't value what we had back in poe1. Turns out it could be so much worse:)

Bring back lab and alt/chaos spam!

Poe1 chaos were just gambling machine coins. However, they are not that useful in poe2. I just use them for the currency exchange, like divines.

Those currency's seems to me like rich luxury and not that useful than the others.
