Please allow us to create low level gems from high level uncut gems
If you have a character in endgame and you figure out that you could make good use of an off class skill that you can only use at low level due to attribute requirements, then at the moment you need to somehow get your hands on a low level uncut gem. This is really painful, since they only drop in low level zones and the drop rates are very low.
Trading is equally painful because low level gems are very cheap and most sellers can't be bothered to react to the trade request. Being able to pick the level of the gem (up to the level of the uncut gem) would be very useful and encourages experimentation in late game. Adding uncut gems to the currency exchange could also be a solution, but I don't see why SSF should be excluded from access to this feature. It should be available across all game modes IMO. Are you really that clueless?
You see those gems "listed" for low currency, and you think that people "do not want to be bothered" for such low currency. Asian bot farms fake listing all of it. Low level gems are very valuable, and are sold for one divine later in the league. The fake bots do not answer, but if you send trade to people listing them at their real price, you get invite right away. Do not be so naive. Those goods come in high demand as well. Many people are trying to get either +1, or +23, and buy 4-5 at times. I made like 100 divs last league, from low level area content... I am waiting to see what would happen with the "Lesser" runes price, since they are also high level restricted, and you really need those for twins. This is special part of the market. |

" Seems like I am that clueless. I don't interact much with trade. I still think that access to low level gems should not be that difficult. Learning that they are sold for divines makes me wanna laugh and cry at the same time. Tier 17/18 uncut gems are highly available in t15+ maps, why should low level ones be so restricted? Doesn't make sense to me. There is absolutely no challenge in farming low level content, just tedium. |

" It is also simply not true (for low level uncut skill gems to go for a divine). I dont know where he got his information from but having played both 0.1 and 0.2 leagues, yes you do need lower level gems at some point - mainly to prevent high attribute requirements or mana costs. But if that happens you simply either keep them beforehand (have 2 stash tabs full of uncut skill/spirit/support gems) or you simply go back to the campaign act where they dropped and storm through with your endgame build. After at most 1-2 minutes, you have your uncut gem. Nobody on earth is paying a divine for that unless they are absolutely braindead. Unless ofc, that low level gem already has a perfect jewelers in it or is Vaal'ed nicely or whatever ofc but that has nothing to do with its level, you pay for the Jewelers or the right Vaal outcome here and not for the skill gem itself. And if you need T1-T5 maps to drop LV 14-16 gems and you dont have those maps anymore, just farm Black Chambers. T1 maps can drop there. I needed multiple low level gems already for various characters and it never took me more than 2 minutes at most to get one that I wanted if its below level 19. Ofc you have to put the jewelers in it separately like always and if you wanna buy an already jewelered one, then yeah ofc it becomes as expensive as the jewelers orb itself at least or more if it is also vaal'ed correctly. That goes without saying. Its a tedious and unnecessary process though and I really get your point that we should be able to produce them (without jewelers/vaal in it) automatically without having to refarm low level content. |
