Maybe, if they make a good patch, and not destroy everything what they built in the previous patch, dont need update it 2 times weekly.

You can't overcome shit in the game if your stats are to low, and THAT is the prime example of "souls-like" games... you can, in fact, overcome everything with skill, no matter your stats.


can you please take over jonathan place or atleast have a podcast with him and explain that to him? man i wanna play ARPG i wanna hold 1 key and kill 5 bilion mobs a day i dont want meaningful or should i say stressful combat
A lot of you need to unplug and just come back at 1.0 release as its apparent you cannot handle the highs and lows that a early access game endures

I mean, it's technically possible to have "meaningful combat", but not how they try to make it work.

How to do it:
First, you need to ensure that all "main damage skills" are actually good on their own to clear the game without using combos, so everybody who wants to play "one-button builds" can do it.
BUT the "non-damage skills" have to be designed in a way that gives ppl even more damage, when they "take the time" to engage with this "meaningful combat".
Basically, if you want to play one-button builds - it works just fine.
And if you use "combos" - you get a "reward" on top of an already working skill.

But that won't happen. They don't want you to play one-button builds AND they don't want to adjust the game (speed, for example) to make combos actually enjoyable.

It's like... wth are they doing!?

ya i would be ok with it if lets say each map had boss like poe 1 but the boss will be alot harder and tankier than rares in maps and it would be in a boss era /zone. . and you could have 2 ways to get the objective the maps either you kill all the rares or you kill the boss and you can skip boss if you want but youd want to kill the boss if you can for loot and each tier boss could be alot stronger.. as barrier for next tier..

and then attack skills would destroy mapping and mobs without problem or any requirements for any combo or clunky stuff so you can turn your brain off and do the map.. and then when you enter the boss zone.. youd maybe want if you chose to to do all the bonus combos and curses and exposures and all that to minmax your dmg for the boss .

True. Combos should make like triple or quadruple damage to compensate efforts. Player must feel gratification.

However, the basic problem is not that 1-button spams are as effective as combos. It is the core design. Game simply is not designed to have slow pace. Vice versa, it is designed exactly to kill 100000 mobs in seconds - just look at what skills do, how they work. And what support gems do. And passive tree nodes. They are all about oneshotting screens, not about meaningful combat. To have meaningful combat GGG must redo everything from the ground.

Screen this. 1.0 won't be any different from 0.1. Numbers will be tweaked here and there - but gameplay will stay exactly the same.
