Chaos damage and Rituals
i have some feedback regarding chaos damage
in poe2, chaos damage is insane. first of all, you face off vs a ridiculous amount of chaos damage throughout the campaign (acts 1-3 specifically) before chaos resistance is even available to you as a stat. what the heck is that about? the rare mob modifier that makes it so they grow those chaos balls that follow you and explode can spawn on ANY mob, including in act 1, and i've literally had it on several mobs in the first couple zones. that is just ridiculous. also the chaos damage seems to be balanced as though you're required to have 75% chaos resistance, where as poe1 it seems like its balanced around you having 0-25% chaos resistance. its extremely rare and expensive to get 75% chaos resistance, and it just isn't available for as early and often and how much dmg chaos does. currently right now i have a lvl 89 smith of kitava that can tank the world, but i can't afford much chaos resistance (27% currently) and in a t15 map i nearly get one tapped with 3,300 life. it'll bring me down to 400 hp or so. however, Rituals are like 80% chaos damage i swear. which is a really big dick move. to restrict you into a fighting arena with sometimes several hundred mobs which swarm you, to blanket that area with a ton of player seeking chaos balls is just stupid. you can't roll cause your swarmed. you can't stand still long enough to do damage depending what weapon/skills you use, and getting hit by one means certain death. and also at the moment, the chaotic boils that spawn in ritual, for whatever reason (on vulkan) they are completely invisible. this alone basically means ritual is a no-go zone for me. i really think chaos damage needs to be toned down quite a bit. maybe reduce the number of player-seeking balls of death that spawn from those rares, and i REALLY think those chaos mods should not be able to spawn in the first 3 acts entirely. keep in mind: any nerf to player-received Chaos damage is also a nerf to Acolyte of Chayula. If the threat of Chaos damage is to be diminished, then AoC must get buffed in some regard.
