"Finisher" type skills are trash.
Three builds this league I've wanted to play builds that can use a "finisher" type skill (Serpent Strike or whatever it's called, Plasma Blast, Hammer of The Gods), three times I've ended up disappointed and annoyed by how the enemies seem to have been designed with the sole idea of making players want to delete the game on attempting to use these.
Let's go over the two that need Glory to use: For the serpent one, spear skills deal so little stun that by the time you've stunned a boss, the boss is probably already dead. At this point there's no reason to ever use it, and it's not even a situation where I'd think "it's just not as good, but it's fun to use". It's simply a situation where the skill is rendered basically unusable. For Hammer of the Gods? Basically that the entirety of slam skills you can use are so low damage and slow that you're going to get stunlocked by all enemies in the game before you can even get one stun in. On top of that? There are bosses that you cannot realistically stun, locking you out of your biggest damage source if you want to go that way. Want to make it worse? The ideal gameplay for this involves warcries, building up rage, putting an ailment on the enemy to get some payoff stuff going, but at any time you even attempt doing that you're gonna get stunned, like a million times even with a stone charm, and your warcry is now on cooldown, you're out of mana for your attacks, you're at like 100hp so you need to get life back somehow, and on top of that you have to build the whole goddamn setup again, if you even can. All that for the attack to get a low roll and dealing less damage that the whole setup did. I would definitely like to go get some stun threshold on tree, maybe some more armour, but turns out that on a slam build it's already hard enough to get damage that even getting one 5% stun threshold node is already a huge hit to my non-existent damage. To make matters worse, said stun threshold shows nowhere on my character sheet, so I have no idea if I'm really getting anything out of it. At this point I'm better off just building attack speed, which leads me down, which leads me close to the attribute wheel on merc's side, which leads me to another astramentis build, which also leads me to just building another gemling instead, and at this point I'm already close to crossbows or grenades so I may just play anything else. Again, this isn't a "I'd rather just play meta"; there really isn't so much as "meta" when everything else isn't just worse but basically unplayable. For Plasma Blast, it's not as bad of a problem, but realistically I'm doing a lot better just using my clear skill than single target, since the crossbow tree makes it so much easier to apply an ailment and deal extra damage on ailments than using any payoffs. " I haven't had those problems in endgame. Are you talking about the campaign? If you are doing very low damage it is more likely that it has to do with a subpar weapon. |

" SSF* early maps(T6). Weapon is mostly good when I don't get stunlocked, but then I'll randomly get stunlocked, lose my warcry cooldown. For bosses I now and then get some very good HoTG rolls, but it feels like for the most part I'm getting the lower ones, and there are bosses like the forge map giant who you just can't build glory against. *in trade league but I'm not trading Последняя редакция: ThDs#2405.
