The game hard crashes my PC since 0.2. I feel scammed

Sometimes switching between Vulkan and DirectX will help.
I've been experiencing a lot of crashes this week. On Steam Deck.

My rig doesn't need further testing than more demanding games playing perfectly. This is clearly a PoE 2 issue.
FPS are capped at 60 since always because I don't like drops from 100 to 40.

I have tested playing at 4K, 2K, and even 1080p. Same results.

Also, this is the only thing in the log: Irrecoverable Exception Callback: SET
I saw a thread with the same problem, but no answers from tech support. They aren't working on anything that represents a problem for players.

If the log does write after the exception then your system is NOT hard crashing due to the game. Your windows is probably struggling to reclaim resources to give you back control and you are rebooting it before he has a chance to finish it.

An exception kills the software, after that happens and the log register there is nothing goign on except the windows trying to create a core dump to send MS telemetry.
When does the problem happen? Does it crash at launch, after an hour of playing, after 30 minutes?

When it crashes, do subsequent crashes happen faster? (May not be relevant if you're rebooting the PC every time).

Have you noticed any particular thing that happens when it crashes? Specific maps or areas, monster types, effects on screen, etc.?

Have you hit F1 and watched your performance indicators to see if anything in particular is spiking?

This is the normal info anyone would need to start with to give you help.

My recommendation:

Check for updates for your Nvidia drivers if you haven't in the past 24 hours.

When logging into a character, the first thing you need to do is join empty Global and Trade chat channels. This is a common issue. Open chat and type /global <####> and /trade <####> and finally, /clear. Something about chat causes insane CPU problems and simply disabling them doesn't prevent your computer from needing to process the messages in a channel, even if you can't see it.
I didnt read through everones comments but if its been said then yeah, Nvidia drivers have now been know with recent updates to cause black screens and crashes, revert back to the last driver you know that didnt cause issues and test from there.

He probably doesn't know how to do any of those things if hes ignoring your suggestions.

I have seen the log a couple of times. It is always ''GameInput Service'' in the error, but that doesn't mean anything. I guess that it just means that the controller disconects while the forced restart happens.

You won't go far with that attitude.

Someone recommended to use a benchmark software to stress test the system which I totally forgot to mention, at least show some good faith for your own good and go test your hardware and other recommendations please.

Games are not good stress test and it happens that PoE2 is a very needy game due to lack of optimizations so it's best to use something that actually stress your hardware to the max, benchmarking/stresstesting programs are a good way to detect hardware failure.

You don't seem to be getting my message or I am not delivering it correctly.
The PC hasn't been crashing for a week or two, it started happening with 0.2 patch. Before that I had a GAME CRASH here and there, but never had to restart the PC due to a black screen.
Because this has been happening for months, and I have tried almost everything reasonable to fix it, I am not running ANOTHER stress test just to get the same results.

I would love to blame Nvidia, but after all the thing I have tried, and because I can play my entire catalog with mods and crazy overtunned games, I can tell that PoE 2 is the problem. No other app, program, site or any other ''.exe'' does anything to PC.

It randomly happens. Could be in the stash, in a map, campaign, etc. Never in a loading screen and never while starting, it is always in-game.

As I said before: I have tried almost everything besides a fresh Windows install, which I won't do just because GGG doesn't want to help its users. And because I don't want to have to waste my time installing all of my other things, of course.

The game sold more than 1M copies, plus the stash tabs they have been selling for PoE 2. It is just absurd to think that they can't put some resources on the tech side, which is key to a clean launch.
This is a scam, but it is GGG, and nobody wants to call it like that.
PoE2 was/is known to hard crash on certain Ryzen CPUs. I had the same thing until this update which solved those issues. In all cases of my crashing, everything was fully updated.

The Windows 11 scheduler handles Ryzen CPUs better than Windows 10. "Upgrading" may help you with your crashing. If you don't like W11, what I'd do is create a full backup image of W10, save it on an external drive and keep it as a backup in case you want to go back to W10 if W11 doesn't work for you.

Use process lasso to limit PoE to use the CPU cores on 1 CCD of your CPU. Ryzen CPUs are built in 8-core CCDs. So if you have a Ryzen 5900 CPU, it has 2 CCDs. Use Process lasso to limit the game to use cores on only one CCD.
Go to your bios and disable xmp profile.
Sounds silly? Didn't try? Give it a shot.
I mean.. you wanna play right?
good luck.
POE 2 got serious performance issues. And so far the devs don't do anything about it or can't do anything about it. Either way it is very bad!
