To solve bad RNG what about this crafting solution for POE2?
How would you feel about a specific pity system? Where you can select specific stats you want to roll on the item. If you don't get it within (x) attempts, a PITY buttons appears, and you have the option to hit the pity button and you will get the item, with that stat added but it will be bound to your account so you cannot trade it. If you want the item to sell then don't hit the pity button and keep trying. What would this do to the economy? If (x) is 20 and an exalt then it means the player can add any stat they need for a max cost of 20 exalts but they won't be able to trade it. The DEVS could change the price of (X) or use the currency exchange prices to have (x) change as the market changes the value of each particular stat. It would set a MAX price for an item because even if the economy says a weapon is worth 100 Divine the reality would be the individual stats on that weapon are not worth that price. Example a +SPELL DAMAGE staff may be selling on Trade Website for 100 Divine but the stat itself across the market would likely be selling for 5 exalt. If you are only looking to add that stat to the staff, you have found then you could hit pity on it for 20 exalts. (if x is 20) Same with Boots, you only want to add 30 Movement on the boots you found. If (x) is 20 then you could hit pity and get 30 movement added to the boots. You could expand on this so that once you select PITY that stat is then locked onto the item and cannot be removed. You can now add other stats? Rarity? +Resist? +Minions? +EnergyShield? Each would repeat the process. Which ultimately would mean to hit PITY on 5 stats on 1 item would have cost you 100 exalts but you would have an item exactly how you wanted it crafted. If the price of each stat is taken from the trade website and currency exchange NPC then the cost/value of each stat would vary daily, and the item would be bound to your account so you cannot sell it if you no longer need it.
