I totally agree that its super obnoxious finding that lvl 82 node to get your last atlas points. Personally I found Expedition, Breach and Simulacrum to all be better and way more accessible ways to farm 82+ zones this league if you are looking for gear or crafting materials. Maps just let you access that content, and you don't necessarily need to be doing lvl 82 maps to farm the fragments for those.

How are you getting lv 82 Breaches, Simulacrums, Expeditions without lv 82 maps?

you get +lvls from atlas tree/higher diff logbooks

Be specific, please.

Yeah, more specifically defeating pinnacle bosses like Olroth in Logbooks will get you atlas skill tree points for that specific content. The +1 difficulty nodes for pinnacle content increases the area level of that content, and all the monsters in that area. The +1 difficulty nodes for bosses do the same thing but they just increase the boss level, not the area level.

For Expedition, Olroth starts showing up in lvl 79 Logbooks, which drop on T15 maps. Its random whether he shows up or not, but I found it to be somewhat common, like 1 in 5 or 6 logbooks. You can farm for lvl 80 Logbooks on T16 maps / T15 + irradiation. Then as you keep defeating Olroth on higher difficulties the area level of the logbooks will also increase. Running a lvl 80 logbook with 3 or 4 +1 difficulty nodes on the atlas skill tree means you are running a lvl 82 zone. I've found expedition to be good for gear and ok for exp since you can get remnants that give you good boosts to experience gain and rarity. You just want to be careful about the remnants you choose and have good understanding of what your build can and can't handle.

For Breach and Simulacrum you can farm for breach splinters and simulacrum shards on whatever lvl map, they drop at decent rates on T15s I think. The default difficulty for breach stones and simulacrum is 80. Then defeating the pinnacle bosses and getting the +1 difficulty nodes on their respective trees will let you run higher lvl breach and simulacrum, same as with logbooks. It will show you the area level when you slot it in to the realm gate on the atlas map. You get less gear than logbooks, but you are also getting breach rings or high tier emotions, and there's less trash loot to pick through so it goes faster.

If you haven't done that much pinnacle content or fought the bosses it might be worth reading a primer on a third party website like maxroll just so you know what you're walking in to.

I appreciate the breakdown, but I still think it's bad design to tie high tier crafting to already having cleared +4 pinnacles.
If anything, you'd care about crating levle 82s *before* going into pinnacles, not after.

What do you mean specifically by high tier crafting?

As far as clearing pinnacles, I believe you can get to lvl 82 zones by clearing just 1 or 2 levels of pinnacle content. The base difficulty for logbooks, breach and simulacrum is 80. If you beat the pinnacle boss once you get 2 atlas points and can put them both into +1 difficulty nodes. So to get access to those lvl 82 zones you really only need to clear the base T0 pinnacle bosses, which are not that much harder than T16 map bosses/ascendancy bosses.

I personally didn't feel like I needed that high tier of gear to clear the base level pinnacle bosses. Well rolled lvl 75+ gear with 3 - 4 decent mods felt sufficient. Goalposts I DID look for before doing that content:
- lvl 20 skill gems, much higher drop rates on these with the new change and you can farm for them in lvl 79 and 80 logbooks
- Perfect Jewelers orb, still kinda rare but also drop more frequently and you can farm for them in logbooks or in lvl 80 grass biome maps with the Local Knowledge node on the Atlas Tree
- character lvl 90, to use lvl 20 skill gems
- 4th ascendancy, again this felt very manageable with a lvl 20 skill gem and full sockets

I'm on ssf hc so I played very safe, you may be able to clear that content with less. I'm guessing you're not playing trade league if you're talking about crafting but maybe i'm wrong?

You get level 82 expeditions after clearing Olroth +4, for example.

That wasn't my point.

You can get level 82 expeditions after clearing Olroth twice. You get two passives for clearing Olroth T0 and 2 passives for clearing Olroth +1. Put all four atlas passives in to the +1 difficulty nodes surrounding the center point.

My bad, sorry if I lost the plot a little bit.

There are currently the following ways to increase map level:
- waystone lv 16 with Vaal Orb => level 80
- Irradiate with precursor => level 81

In order to get lv 82 maps for high tier crafting and atlas boss, we now
- first have to find a corrupted cluster
- have to cleanse it
- pray that at least one of them will have +1

This is very annoying to do, especially since, with how low the chance is, you will likely have to find and clenanse multiple corrupted clusters for maybe 1 Cleansed that gives you +1.

Even funnier when you do find one that is +1 and your Irradiate doesn't hit that specific node :)

Please make it so corruption on ondes gives +1 on the node again, or at least increase the likelihood for Cleansed to give +1, by like triple or something.

And you forgot that the +1 Corruption/Clense and irradiated has to also be a Boss map to get your Boss Atlas points (assuming your Atlas is not bugged like mine)
