Azmadi, The Faridun Prince is overtuned + Lightning Warp bug

Well over 50 attempts on this boss at this point. For reference, I played ED/Contagion/Dark Effigy Lich with a +3 wand, all chaos damage nodes on tree, increased chaos/spell damage on gear, at least 60 all resistance and a 2.1k combined life pool. After phasing him, he'd constantly 1 or 2-shot me with his overtuned skills. Dodge rolling doesn't even help most of the time because his dash and charge attacks have a far wider hit box than what you see on screen or he'll follow up with another triple slash attack that's nearly unavoidable. Not sure why he's so tanky either as I didn't have an issue with any other campaign boss.
Anyways, I swapped to Blood Mage and went for leech + 25% of damage taken over time nodes...Nope, he still 1 or 2 shots me. Spent all of my gold and skill gems swapping to CoC Ball Lightning and Lightning Warp. Lightning Warp worked just fine in the zones I tested but I'm pretty sure it's bugged on bosses. The text reads that you can warp to Ball Lightning projectiles but I was unable to do so in the boss arena. Hope both of these issues get seen by GGG and will be patched in the future. Also, please put some more thought into balancing classes next time instead of making a single class absolutely absurd...not all of us want to be forced to play the single meta build each patch. I think the misunderstanding here is that Im pretty sure the boss is deliberately designed to 1-2 shot you while you seam to think this is some kind of flaw.
When I did him all his big attacks would one shot me, but his attacks are fairly easy to avoid when youve seen them a couple of times. Its a fairly hard boss with very good and fair mechanics, there is nothing wrong here. For the campaign to be entertaining it needs to be allowed to have some bosses that are actually challenging, and for the boss fight to be challenging the boss needs to have attacks that can actually kill you. | |

Can confirm lightning warp does not work in this boss fight, hope its fixed soon.

Re-Tweet lightning warp is not able to be used on ball lightning in this ball fight. I thought the boss fight was fine besides that.

I died more to the champion that gets blessed by onlookers. That said, I learned that fight and was able to finally win. It was totally a me thing.
This fight, though, sucks. If a boss has a one-shot, there should only be one. And it should be well-choreographed. You learn what to look for and how to avoid it. I hate one-shots, personally, and think removing them is the best policy. I'm not talking things that one-shot you because your defenses or resistances are low. Also, what's with the start of this fight? The force-walk nonsense in a game where your RUN is too slow is annoying. And this force-walk is rather long. |

His melee auto attack 1 shot is the worse part of this fight.
Not any of the wind-up or coreographed attacks ever killed me. The one that looks like an auto attack and tracks you is broken. It has that built in intentional "never dodge roll unless you have to or you will lose here" mechanic that is in souls games. If you have the habit of just spamming dodge roll to pre-emptively dodge stuff you will always die to this attack because it hits you in less than 1s from the start of the animation |

The fight would be cool if not for the looong walk before it. It's fine the first time, however it is such a useless time sink, after the first wipe it really should be disabled. Very unnecessary and annoying.

In the first phase, just hug him and doge his attacks. Second phase, range is best IMHO…got to keep moving…first time with a Monk with crap gear and I owned his ass.

Fun, challenging boss but in the second phase the triple slash attack needs either a damage nerf or a range nerf. It is not reactable at close range and Azmadi's behavior with it is erratic; it can come out at any time.
Alternatively it could keep the damage and the range but stop being a red flash attack (i.e. make character defences work against it). |
