Sorceress Gameplay
You don't need to bother trying to do infusions this early into the game.
Focus on getting good equipment (specially resistances) and learning the bosses' patterns. Infusions are actually really viable and not in a painful way, but you need to actually plan a build that takes advantage of them and that's not really something you will be doing in act 2. |

Early Sorc is probably best done using Cold, with an Ice Nova Snap build.
Ice Nova have seen buffs since 0.2 and it is extremely powerful especially in lower levels. Build into freeze buildup, infusions, and other Cold related nodes and everything in the campaign have been a breeze in 0.3 for me. Especially with Cold Infusion, infused Ice Nova is actually strong enough to be the main trash clear spam spell during the campaign, as it one-shots a lot of white packs (if you have +Levels to Cold Spells on your weapon and keep Ice Nova updated and supported for damage). Campaign bosses with adds become trivial due to Ice Nova's low mana cost even when fully supported. Then once you get cast-on-ailment comet, it becomes even easier. Lightning Sorc builds are probably better only in the endgame. |

These responses are only proving that the sorc has a real problem. In any other game you expect to be able to survive casting spells to great effect but the balancing act has turned leveling a sorc into either a total struggle to make shit combos work or using one or two powerful spells to play. I think they had good intentions with making everything comboable with everything else but the issue arises where they kind of need to combo. It's clumsily done right now and makes you feel like a bush mage rather than a powerful sorcerer, where the other classes have that from the start. I wouldn't normally whine if this were POE 1 and the end game is kind of the game, but their stated goal is to make the campaign a pleasurable experience and it is definitely not with a sorc right now.

agree, played campaign spark/arc/orb of storms
it's pretty terrible, kept swapping between arc and spark setups between acts the combo nonsense is just that - nonsense lots of builds can 1 button but this has to be played with combo cycles if you have any hope and 16k ES doesn't matter when fighting abyss mobs in end game, especailly the laser one, you just get melted. overall like a 4/10 and its just profit craft time (which is fun, but I'd rather play but its just not worth it with current end game and overtuned mobs) Последняя редакция: tdonov5#2743. You think that's bad, switch to cold spells, it's even worse. Sorc is just the worst class in the entire game right now , and needs to be put back the way it was.

" Sure, that's why i'm melting away bosses in t13 maps right now. Just because you can't build, doesn't mean a class is trash. |

Playing sorc(Stormweaver) and I don't have any issues except it's hard to see the remnants with all the effects and clutter on the screen. Also they keep spawning in the middle of monster packs where you just can't get them without getting killed. Would be nicer if the remnants jump to you when they spawn or at least spawn on your location instead of in the middle of monster packs...
Otherwise the sorc has plenty of power and is fun to play. Built it for the remnants/infusions mini game and quite like it. You do have to routinely run combos of 5-6 skills tho... So I can see how it's not for everyone. Luckily I enjoy stringing good combos together and really like actually having to think/work to make my character powerful. |

spells seem to be balanced around always having the highest + levels on your weapon, i hope they move away from this and actually give spells some proper damage, and also, make the pay off of comboing spells and using infusions actually worth the hassle
