That aside, my explanation is correct:
You don't have to interact with the Mercs mechanics. You can completely ignore them, just like you can ignore other Trial Masters or Delves.
Why should a mechanic that many people enjoyed very much not be included in the base game just because a small group says “I don't want minions” or “I didn't enjoy it”?
In fact, the league was one of the most successful in POE1.
Many new people joined, many had fun with it, and in the past, mechanics from a league were incorporated into the base game if the majority enjoyed them.
The argument that it is a “forced minion” is simply not correct. Because no one is forcing you to use the mechanic.
And if you want to say, “But it gives you so much power, if you don't use it, then...”:
No one is saying that the Mercs should stay the same—I also see that they were/are too strong. They need to be adjusted so that they fit into the game completely—but I think that's the right move for the game, because even weaker builds could be played easily with buff Mercs.

We might as well turn “POE the ARPG” into “POE the RTS in more real time” (exaggerating xD), what’s the point of so many minions? 😅
PS: If you start a discussion with someone and in that discussion you offend them by calling them a "crybaby," that’s not a good way to begin debating something, however now you’ve been polite and argued better 😁
But we mustn't forget that an Animate Guardian also gave you power and buffs.
The only difference is that it's annoying to maintain and you lose all your items.
Perhaps the Mercs could be balanced so that you can only choose 1 or 2 items yourself – but not all of them. And certain items that would give too much power simply wouldn't be available.
Of course, the Mercs made builds very strong, but they also contributed to builds that were unplayable due to the lack of buffs and therefore only worked.
Personally, I always find variety in builds better than excluding certain things just because a few builds are then “super strong.”
Ultimately, in every season, there are usually a handful of builds that are 200% better than all the others—that's unavoidable with the depth of POE.
But I understand your approach and arguments—thanks for explaining it like that, unlike 90% of the others who just say “No, get rid of it” or something like that.

Thankfully, the people asking for mercenaries to go core are not game designers.
Affliction and Necropolis worst leagues ever. The current game design has slowly turned this game into a loot-shower fest, chase uniques are way too available; and obtaining chase items through stacked decks and valdo's boxes simply isn't fun.

Thing is that it is miscalculated! In interview with J. he said 4 months. Not 4 and a half, not 5. If last league was launched on 13th of June, new one should be mid October, not end of October!
I know this is better than 6 months or almost a year we waited for last time, but don't promise something you can't fulfil.

It has been 3 weeks now and we are approaching a month. A month is more than "a few weeks". Which means news has to come this week if you intend to keep your words.
