Not usable with current weapon set settings

I had the same problem. My herald of plague (gem lvl 17) was working fine and then got the "not usable with current weapon set settings" . What fixed the problem was just using level 17 uncut spirit gem to craft new herald, works for now. Hope this help someone.

will try that when I find a new spirit gem... use the last one to upgrade the skill and did not work.. so maybe new one could do it.

Part of the bug for some is that the weapon set 1 and 2 aren't checkable and are disabled despite meeting gem/spirit/weapon type requirements. Apparently cutting a new spirit gem can fix it, haven't tried yet

i found a fix for it for now, just press G look for your bugged skills and choose set your WEAPON SET to your current set

For those who don't want to click on links. Press G to open your Skills. Scroll to your buggered skill and click the arrow pointing to the left (where other skills are listing their damage or DPS). On the window that opens, there at the bottom, you can select which weaponset this skill be used on. I or II. Select whatever one you're using. I will admit I only have one, so I didn't test if the second one works.
Anyway, hoped this helped. Do battle, be radical.

Had a similar problem. Fixed it by putting a similar weapon in my 2nd weapon slot(it was empty), then swapped back to the original weapon.
