For the love of god, remove the Trial of the Sekhemas and Trial of Chaos from ascenadncy

Tying vital improvements to a character build behind rng gameplay that is also behind an rng drop is a terrible and bone-headed decision.

I can't stand the Sekhema trial, and i can't get an ultimatum to drop. For the love of god, my character is on 4 ascendancy points at level 82.

Until you figure out what to do with it, just give the ascendancy points at 20/40/60/80 level rather than tying them to the most hated mechanics of the previous game.

The Sekhema trial has almost nothing to do with POE, your game is not a good roguelike with clear telegraphs and smooth movement, just make me play a game of chess for the points or something.

No and I like both because I made a proper build and I know what I'm doing.

Dys an sohm
Rohs an kyn
Sahl djahs afah
Mah morn narr
no, please dont...
The Trial of Seka is horrible in my opinion and takes waaaay too much time to do, even with sprint. Honestly they should just drop that one and Tie ascendancy to ultimatum and/or bring back izzaro and his trial.

I hate the Seka trial so much I just wait till 85 to get my last two ascendancy points every time.
I like the trials, they're good mechanically and give you something different to do which is needed. I like balancing and crafting the relics as another layer of gear.

The only part that potentially needs balancing is the rewards for doing them.

I did them both recently for the 3rd/4th set of points because i was bored, those points will sit unused until the end of the league as the ascendancies really dont do anything much for minion builds.

Lol What....

Even Warrior Titan ascendency can effect minion builds with hulking form and extra life (this depends on items you wear), tactician gives you 25% of your weapon damge to your minions as base damage, lich gives unholy might, infernalist gives more spirit and literally an entire minion in itself, chronomancer now gives you a curse which can be scaled to basically give you 30% or higher MORE damage, time freeze ect.

The ascendencies are such a huge power buff for most builds if used correctly.

Those are all worse than taking witch and just not taking an ascendancy at all. For the witch ones, you have one node thats good, one thats meh and then your just taking things you would have taken on the regular passive tree.

If you're not familiar with POE's passive tree, i'd recommend taking a look at it sometime. The non-witch ones might look good on paper, but the travel cost nullifies any benefit to taking them. Thats what you get from theory crafting and not actually playing the game.
I think doing the first Sekhema's and first Chaos trials are fine, but after that, they definitely aren't fun and are just plain bad design.

This is my main problem with them: I don't WANT to do them. They aren't fun.

Sekhema's is just awful, takes too long at 3+ floors, randomness you can't control in the form of afflictions, and drop-based RNG just to gain access to it. And Chaos is better, but you have to do a level 75+ 10 floor trial just to get your third pair of points? What is the deal with that? You have to be doing RED MAPS to get these Inscribed Ultimatums... Sekhema's third pair of points are level 60+... Why isn't the 7 Floor Ultimatum doable for ascendancy set 3? Basically forces you into 3 floor Sekhema's trial to get your points, total illusion of choice here.

And then if you want to do Chaos for your fourth set of points, you have to run level 75+ Inscribed Ultimatums over and over again until, again, RNG decides to give you the THREE DIFFERENT KEYS to access the boss, which, if you fail, enjoy doing it all over again. And don't forget, entrance keys are drop-only, completely random. All of this just a big middle finger to SSF players. But hey, at least you get all of those great corrupted items with no quality, right?

I have never bothered to fully ascend a character yet. I'm not doing all that crap for 30% more damage with a drawback or some such nonsense. It's not fun. I play video games to have fun.

I'm REALLY praying that TotA won't be anywhere near as awful.

But you absolutely can control the randomness; I can't remember the last time I got an affliction I didn't deliberately choose. Get 2-3 relics that reveal 3 additional rooms and you can either avoid afflictions entirely or just pick ones that have little to no impact on your build. Use this search then sort by the sum; for a little extra currency you can stack the Merchant with more choices, but for an exalt or less you can get ones that buff your damage or debuff enemies and those should more than suffice.

Fill in the rest of the Relic slots with maximum honour, honour resistance, and either increased damage taken or reduced damage dealt for monsters and bosses.

I completely understand if the Sek Trials aren't your favorite content in the game, but you should absolutely not be struggling to complete them. I think I've only ever failed them once and I play some seriously jank-ass builds with midling gear.

NGL, didn't read your reply. Saw a picture of trade league stuff and moved on.

Anxiously awaiting the meaningless "tHe GaME Is NoT BaLanCED aRound SSF!" Replies.

Though, thanks for reminding me to bring up the fact you have to grind relics too. Really helps my point about it how bad it is.
