So I guess we're done
This new "endgame update" is basically just scrapping PoE2's endgame completely in favor of the same terrible mapping system PoE1 had, with most everything that was even trying to make PoE2 different being ripped out and thrown away.
Combined with the ridiculous, nonsensical overfocus on Ultra Clearspeed Everything and the complete abandonment of anything remotely resembling the more deliberate, methodical, and engaging game Jonathan Rogers promised us prior to launch...and there's not really any sense in playing this game anymore. It's just PoE1 Again, with the same pointless, mindless blast-a-thon gameplay and the same utter emptiness behind everything you do. I was SO excited for this thing when Jon Rogers was talking it up prior to release. Absolutely loved my first several hours into it, no matter that the game was wrecking me. Now? every skill is nothing but [X] number of MOAR supports again no matter what, every build needs to be able to blow up the entire instance with a single click, and loot geysers from the ground in an endless cascade of free cheese. Literally nothing has changed. This game has already existed for fifteen years. We had ONE CHANCE to get a truly novel and innovative sequel, but y'all couldn't quit whining. What the hell was so bloody wrong with you all sticking to the one you liked and letting the rest of us have the new one that was actually different, instead of this lame pointless retread? Pretty much. I had low expectations after the start of this league, but now I have 0. I already know what POE 2 will be in 1.0 version.....POE 1.
It's just the times we live in. The older gamers are quitting or dying out, and the new ones live in the "fast age". Everything must be fast, instant dopamine, and move on to the next shot. Some of us just have to come to terms with the fact that we are not the target audience for this game anymore. Letting go is hard, and sad, but it has to be done. Still, I cannot for the life of me understand GGG. Since POE 1 exists, is completely free and already caters to that "live fast" generation of players, why waste time and money on making a copy of that same game? They should have just stuck with their initial plans of making POE 2 an extension of 1. But they didn't, and instead of standing their ground and committing they just did a 180....... Or maybe the big boss scrapped their plans and suggested to just follow the crowd. Either way, RIP POE 2; it was a short, but fun run. "The vision is dead! Long live the vision!" People wanted PoE2 just to be PoE1 with better graphics in the first place.
Its just momentum changes, you have to wait for 0.4 to judge. |

" It's also true that many others wanted the opposite. But, a loss is a loss; no point crying over spilt milk. I'd usually agree on the judgment......but it's kind of hard atm. |

the game just isn't balanced period. this change helps balance the excessive loot from super juicing maps because that's just how you were forced to play.
Few people (streamers) ultra-juice maps with triple tower setups with paradise etc. Nobody else does that - instead the quit, or just are weirdo campaign warriors lol. The result is they have all the items in the game because they can just buy it or craft it. There's no engagement between the sweats and the casuals. To be honest, they were playing a completely different game than the rest of us. I'm glad that juicing isn't locked to giga-chads only and balances out the division in drops/drop rate for all types of players. GGG didn't say whether or not tower juicing would still be available in the way that they were previously where the tablets used on the map impacts the area around. It better be for vision only or I'll join you in saying the game is cooked haha Now to balance the rest of the game... lol Последняя редакция: tdonov5#2743. Время: 25 сент. 2025 г., 18:20:24

Great changes. Just getting to maps was frustrating because of the huge difficulty spike. Trying to hunt down rares was annoying, and it was anticlimatic to just kill some rares and have no map boss.
Here's the thing though, this is the result of the original engame being half baked. Since GGG didn't really have a plan for endgame, it really showed. As a result, they went back to what worked, which makes sense to do when your current plan isn't working. Could they have salvaged it? Maybe. But for the time being, this is better than struggling with what isn't working or popular. |

I love those changes and don't see how they're causing you such grief to be honest.
Each map has a boss now, so there's a more methodological fight to finish a map. Then juicing a map becomes as easy as having three desirable tablet and a prepared waystone. This removes hours of tower setup before you can run the map you want. And, generally, while the tablets will be buffed, I don't think they will have the same impact as s full three tower setup. So juicing will on average be toned down a bit. All this means is that there's probably less zooming and more meaningful engagement per map. Whether you zoom or not is more related to your build anyway and not the map |

Yeah great changes...
Instead of once every couple maps we now have to go through up to 4 different items each time we decide to juice a map. So basically if you decide to do 10 maps in a row its gonna be 40 items you have to check for the stats you want/need to be more effective. So even more time is spend on prepping/sorting/crafting instead of actually doing the maps. Alongside that we get maps nerfed that "took to long" like Savannah which was not a map with a hundred chokepoints and small corridors. Build variety gets toned down as well because now you need a build that can do single target and maps basically. Everthing that isnt a bosskiller as well wont be viable any more. Choice regarding the content you do? Nah lets make the stuff random on your maps and take away options to influence what activity you get. Maybe it wil be nicer then i expect it to be but i really cant see how constant management of items to do a single map will be more fun if you play more then a couple maps in a row. Especially when you factor in that most modifiers will be useless again and only a couple will be viable to get proper juiced maps. Cant wait to hug the crafting stations for hours just to get stuff to run. |

HONESTLY.
to me seems that game is like "walking with no ends in circles". Whatever the player wants to do, there's a barrier to randomness. I imagine that so far, playing League, with the second character already level 83 (the first is 92), I still haven't found a Citadel. The XP rate is low, the game is always unfocused, and the crafting remains poor. I see things that I can't believe. They made this Abyss currency. When applying items, there are rolls that really don't make sense. The toons remain very vulnerable, even with 8000 ES, swept with one hit, without any balance. The atlas system is also unfocused; you have to find a map with a temporary teether to open another map... completely meaningless... An inexplicable obsession with making 99% of the maps narrow areas full of barriers. Huge XP loss when the toon dies, it has to be fixed depending on omen... Poorly designed passive tree, with a lot of useless points, little damage for spells, worse for minions. Ineffective status, ineffective vitality, the toon dies very easily. Constant crashes and freezes. I've played 1400 times, I don't see any progress. I admit I'm tired of this philosophy and meaningless mechanics. |

" I think nothing you said is correct. You already specialize in something based on your atlas. You will hunt for 3 tablets with your most desired mechanics and the type of juice you want. Then you'll place them in your first map and forget about them for the next 10 maps. There will be almost no micromanaging because you won't have to remove and reinsert them unless for whatever reason you decide to run different tablets for one specific map - but why? Idk. And now you won't have to spend hours with tower setups anymore before you can actually run the maps you want. And no map boss should be an issue if your character is strong enough to clear a map. These bosses won't be T4 Arbiters. It's just a map boss .... Последняя редакция: staytuned2k#6008. Время: 25 сент. 2025 г., 20:55:43
