Yeah great changes...

Instead of once every couple maps we now have to go through up to 4 different items each time we decide to juice a map. So basically if you decide to do 10 maps in a row its gonna be 40 items you have to check for the stats you want/need to be more effective. So even more time is spend on prepping/sorting/crafting instead of actually doing the maps.

Alongside that we get maps nerfed that "took to long" like Savannah which was not a map with a hundred chokepoints and small corridors.

Build variety gets toned down as well because now you need a build that can do single target and maps basically. Everthing that isnt a bosskiller as well wont be viable any more.

Choice regarding the content you do? Nah lets make the stuff random on your maps and take away options to influence what activity you get.

Maybe it wil be nicer then i expect it to be but i really cant see how constant management of items to do a single map will be more fun if you play more then a couple maps in a row. Especially when you factor in that most modifiers will be useless again and only a couple will be viable to get proper juiced maps. Cant wait to hug the crafting stations for hours just to get stuff to run.

I think nothing you said is correct.

You already specialize in something based on your atlas. You will hunt for 3 tablets with your most desired mechanics and the type of juice you want. Then you'll place them in your first map and forget about them for the next 10 maps. There will be almost no micromanaging because you won't have to remove and reinsert them unless for whatever reason you decide to run different tablets for one specific map - but why? Idk.

And now you won't have to spend hours with tower setups anymore before you can actually run the maps you want.

And no map boss should be an issue if your character is strong enough to clear a map. These bosses won't be T4 Arbiters. It's just a map boss ....

Didnt notice that the tablets have like 10 uses now. In the summary i watched that wasnt really mentioned so I didnt see that.

Thats were i was wrong indeed. My fault.

Regarding builds i wasnt. If there are bosses everywhere you need a build thats is geared towards bosses as well. Not every build is suited for that even if it can do the rest of the map. Atm i have 5 chars in the endgame able to run T15-16 maps. Not all of them are mainstream and i like to play around with those as well. My thorns build as an example struggles because it cant take some of the big swings those bosses are capable of while it perfectly runs a juiced T15. In the end its a problem i have, others maybe not at all (hello all Deadeyes - yes have one as well).

On the other hand i never had trouble to get started with mapping and got swarmed to death over and over again. That seems to be the reason for making maps smaller and remove packs. So I am not happy with changes especially to those maps that werent the usual "lets throw small corridors, a ton of doors and tiny rooms on mass at the player". Again thats me and maybe not everybody.

In the end it might be better then expected.
This is a much needed change in the right direction.

Changes are excellent and the crowd that wants "slow methodical gameplay (i.e. boring gameplay) has always been tiny despite how loud and often they complain.

This new "endgame update" is basically just scrapping PoE2's endgame completely in favor of the same terrible mapping system PoE1 had, with most everything that was even trying to make PoE2 different being ripped out and thrown away.

Combined with the ridiculous, nonsensical overfocus on Ultra Clearspeed Everything and the complete abandonment of anything remotely resembling the more deliberate, methodical, and engaging game Jonathan Rogers promised us prior to launch...and there's not really any sense in playing this game anymore. It's just PoE1 Again, with the same pointless, mindless blast-a-thon gameplay and the same utter emptiness behind everything you do.

I was SO excited for this thing when Jon Rogers was talking it up prior to release. Absolutely loved my first several hours into it, no matter that the game was wrecking me. Now? every skill is nothing but [X] number of MOAR supports again no matter what, every build needs to be able to blow up the entire instance with a single click, and loot geysers from the ground in an endless cascade of free cheese.

Literally nothing has changed. This game has already existed for fifteen years. We had ONE CHANCE to get a truly novel and innovative sequel, but y'all couldn't quit whining.

What the hell was so bloody wrong with you all sticking to the one you liked and letting the rest of us have the new one that was actually different, instead of this lame pointless retread?

That's like, your opinion man!
+1

The game becomes more trash for every patch; I have zero belief this game will ever good become after this. And yes, i hated Path of Exile 1.
I mean, if anything Towers were definitely not good for the original vision you are talking about anyways. It was just not a good system, regardless of whether the game is more methodical or not.
To me PoE 2 is PoE 1 simplified and I am happy for it.

If they keep reducing grinding times and grinding amount, then I will be a happy man.

I won't say no to worth while innovations either but, I don't think GGG can manage those high expectations as well as Larian Studios, Crate Entertainment or Shiro Games, but that's fine because to me GGG's strong points are blending good story telling with mindless fun.
Some of the Changes are good and some not. For me i dont like the Idea that i have to klick 4 times now to run a Map and after the Map i have to klick again 3 Times to move the Tablets to the next Map, that to much Micromanagment for me.
Just another "sky is falling!" thread, maps taking less time to complete is by itself not a problem, if you don't like zooming you can still take it slowly even with the 0.3.1 changes. Personally I don't like zooming and doing a map with lots of "things" (icons above the node) will literally take over 30 minutes to clear which sometimes can be really annoying and I'll have to take the decision to skip 1 or 2 "things" just so I can finish the map and move on. It's a welcome change and if you play a certain way right now (other than tower stacking, obviously), this won't affect you.
