With a superficial, even inappropriate announcement considering the calamitous state that PoE2 is in, I'm truly surprised by how many people are reacting to this same announcement. and they still waiting a "good" update.

I decided to write this after spending 8 Chaos Orbs to reroll a single map, and seven times it repeats the same "chill ground" modifier.

I won't say I can imagine what's to come, but if I'm sure of anything, it's that it will be terrible; while this game is like this, with this tendency to always get worse, with poor and badly made mechanics, I don't expect anything good.

crash crash crash, freeze freeze freeze, no ritual tablets, trash loot, 1 portal maps ....

Punish everything, worsen everything, and nerf everything...

That's the philosophy.

Problem: chilled ground is very annoying and is very common as a roll on maps

Solution: find a way to reduce the potency of slows and/or chill on the player

Options: The many tree nodes that offer those stats, and the rune for boots, along with increasing base skill and movement speed.

How much feels good?

I find it varies depending on your character and the playstyle/skills. If you need cast speed to do damage, or you need action speed to complete your attacks in a timely manner, then at least ~30-60% depending on how fast your are with those things initially. More is better, but there's no need to cap it usually.

It pairs well with "reduced effect of curses on you" to counteract temporal chains, which you can get on the tree and in runes as well.

Chilled ground can easily be a "free" map mod if you build your character to deal with it. I haven't played a class yet where I wasn't able to do so. There's even a node you can annoint that gives you damage for standing on it if you hate it that much.

As a side note; Dream Fragment's "You cannot be chilled" modifier is not effecting to the chilled ground. Which should not work like that imo.

dont work on my build with nodes,because there is no nodes around, and this passive tree is fresh dog shit. if i use dream fragment, ill lose alot of spirit and resistance.

It's unbelievable that someone would see this kind of thing and think it's right.

I've always believed that to solve a problem, a person needs to understand that there is a problem. And so it goes, poe2.

It will take a long time for them, to understand that they want to manipulate and control the way we play, with this stupid excess of punishments handed out left and right is wrong.

Wait for the new patch, it's going to be a nuclear saturation bombardment.

It sounds somehow a bit worrying to me that a lot of players are spending hundreds of hours in a couple of months to a game that is in a calamitous state. Please blink if you are being held hostage.

Well, more seriously tho..

Some of the crashes are a bit annoying. They don't happen commonly to me, maybe once every 50 maps. Still, a bit annoying. The game is also very demanding in mapping when the monster quantities start to go up. I hope they can optimize it a wee little bit still.

I'm not sure how everything has been nerfed. Looking at the top builds, this league has been even zoomier and more screen-clearing than the previous one seems to me.

I don't know who has been punished. I at least liked this league a lot.

I don't understand what the supposed issue with the chilled ground modifier is. In most maps, you can just avoid it. In the maps you can't, you could mitigate it via gear or passive tree nodes. I consider it basically a free map mod myself. Sure, I walk into it now and then, and get slowed down for a bit, but not a big deal. Fair enough that I don't play in the zoomiest possible way, part because I play HC only.

the biggest problem right now is the there is simply no competition at all from other games against poe2.

other games are really not up to standard and they are just not as complex and complicated as poe2.

that's the reason why many players are still depending on poe2 as their go-to-play game.

Waiting for a good update?

Ya it sounds like you just don't like the game. Personally I've liked something about every update or I wouldn't have been here at all.

We know they were working on "endgame" for the next update and hopefully there is something better there. That's where I end up getting bored and quitting.

After I play around with various builds and get one character deep into end game I just take a break until the next update.

That's 90% of the player base... For most ppl that takes a week or two, "endgame" is subjective. What everyone one considers endgame is different and will only expand as new mechanics are added. Like for some ppl finishing the acts means the endgame and for some that's just the tutorial being over and now you kill arbiter. For others it's generating currency either thru selling/crafting/super juiced maps/playing POE like a stock market and trying to guess trends to corner a market/ some just be rich for the sake of being rich, others it's trying to use that currency to craft perfect items. There's totally more put you get the picture

There is nothing subjective.

Lets see the facts.

After the acts you are (maximum) half ascended.
You lack at least 30 skill points.
You have low level gear.
You have low level skill gems.
You've seen the introduction of league mechanics but nothing of it.
You haven't killed a single pinnacle boss. Or even see it for that matter.
You do not have any atlas skill points.

I mean what have you played?
16 hours tutorial, that is what.

I mean, I can get the guy who says "I care only about expedition" and doesn't want to do anything else.

But there is a difference between focusing on a single aspect of the game and committing to it, and not seeing the actual game at all and claiming that you have reached the end of it.
