Monk is by far the worst class early game, and I have tested all of them, some more than once. None was more painful than just starting as a basic monk and not doing something stupid like going lightning arrow again.

His early skills are awful, meaning if you actually try and play the game, you're in for a world of hurt. He takes forever to come online. When you're well into maps, he's not bad, but why punish people so hard just because they don't want to do another meta lightning arrow speedrun?

Evade is pretty useless unless it's at like 90%. Being one-shot 50% of the time doing literally ANYTHING endgame is rough.

Runes aren't dropping enough. Resists are too difficult to manage, and being artificially forced to do so isn't fun. At all. To anybody, I'm willing to wager.

NOBODY likes gearing for defense. So it needs to be as painless as possible.

He basically just one shot and destroy everything in the maps.

He pretty much carry the entire team.

Monk doesn't need to be squishy.
I made an invoker this season that is hybrid EV/ES and he only ever dies when i was too late to dodge out of the way from one of those meant-to-kill telegraphed boss slam attacks.
71% evade, 3450 shield, all 4 resistances maxed.
But what really helped most of all was 42% of damage taken from mana before life combined with Walker of the Wilds and a few decent mana and mana regen rolls on gear. Spirit gems are Ghost dance, Herald of Ice, Wind dancer, Mana remnants and Blasphemy with Temporal chains.
Have to say he ended up tankier than a tank :p
Damage is insane as well. I actually prefer playing the monk now over the deadeye i made in season 1.
Try just try different things, you'll get there
