[Feedback] Infernalist Witch Minion Build - Endgame Minions Feel Extremely Underwhelming

That is a good recommendation and yeah, I am aware of that interaction. I have played around with it a bit. I would not personally call it 10 times faster and 100 times safer, but it definitely helps and I agree it is a valid way to play.

The main downside for me is that my gem slots are already completely packed. To fit Flame Wall (or some other skill just for commanding), I pretty much have to drop one minion, which means losing a chunk of damage per mage on top of that. When each one is doing around 10k+ or more, giving up a slot starts to hurt, especially on a character that is already built around squeezing every bit of DPS out of them.

As for actually commanding minions, I do use the in-game command input. It works, but only in a very literal way: I need to click directly on an enemy for them to move and attack, or they just shuffle to the spot and chill. It is still useful though. It is really nice for things like doors and tight rooms: minions open doors for me, I send them in first, and only then I follow. That part I like a lot.

That is why I keep coming back to the idea of a proper "move and attack while moving" command. Something that tells them: go here, and on the way, murder anything you see. If GGG added a command like that, it would pretty much solve my whole complaint. I would happily spam-click the floor ahead of me and let the skeletons march forward like an angry carpet of death, instead of dragging them behind me like slightly confused pets.

When you click your flame wall, the minions will walk into it, but not passively, but trying to attack anything around.

This allows you to walk and spam skills, and the minions will stay in front of you, instead of dragging behind you.

You can do unearth If you want to.

Any spell will make your minions rush to that zone and kill everything they find.

Try it, you will clear 10 times faster, 100 times safer.

I think this will solve all of your problems.

Sure, I was just trying to suggest immediate solution.

But dedicated move and attack command seems to be neither illogical, nor hard to implement.

I do not mind extra options. I even consider it superior, because it saves the cast time.
From a different thread.

The game needs an a-move for minions.

Now the minion movement is as follows:

Yeah, I think we are on the same page that a proper "move and attack" command would fix most of the minion passiveness. Let me a-move my skeletons and I am happy.

But even if we got that button tomorrow, there is still the bigger picture.

Leveling from 90 to 100 feels pretty pointless right now. You get 10 extra passive points and that is basically it. Level 90 is already enough for level 20 gems. Past that you are mostly just getting a few more attributes to maybe wear some picky item. For the amount of hours it takes to go from 90 to 100, the reward is very underwhelming.

Same story with minion levels. Getting minions to around level 30 is fairly easy, you do not even need crazy gear. Pushing from 36 to 40 is where it becomes multi hundred, if not multi thousand divine orbs of investment. And when you compare level 30 vs level 40 in actual gameplay, there is almost no noticeable difference in survivability, damage, movement, anything. That is the depressing part. It feels like GGG is punishing end game minion enjoyers.

If you manage to get your minions to level 40, they should be absolutely insane. That is literally the highest level they can reach. They should feel unkillable and hyperactive, like they just got injected with five different damage steroids and a triple espresso. Same with a level 100 character. Hitting 100 should feel like a real milestone, not "congrats, here are a few more passive points and a pat on the back".

So right now the overall feeling in end game is kind of "meh". The time investment from 90+ and level 36+ minions does not really pay off for this build in its current state. I will probably revisit it when the league starts and we get more noticeable changes. Then I can decide whether it is worth doubling down on this setup again or if I should park the skeleton circus for a while.
