Just watched the season reveal stream and apparently we're going from maps having less monster density in the beginning to maps having lower monster density period.
Who are all these people complaining about getting overrun by too many monsters? I was already fishing for specific maps with higher density, since some of the maps feel empty as fuck. Now they're making it even worse. How about we just remove all the monsters and replace them with chests people can open to get their loot, then no one will get overrun anymore...
You're only complaining, because you can't one-shot hordes of trash-mobs anymore.
Zoom-zoom goes bye-bye.
I understand why you think that but why is no one here acknowledging they have 40% more hp. This will force people into more damage, not less. I don't get how no one is seeing it that way. This is making less builds viable, not more.
Define 'viable' and you'll see where the problem is.

I kind of like that they made monsters stronger, but for some builds it really does not change much.
Take my storm mages. Before the changes they already 1-shot every normal mob and massively overkilled them, so half their damage was basically going straight into the void. After the buff, they are still going to 1-shot any normal mob, but now their damage is a bit less wasted and feels more "efficient" instead of nuking white mobs like they insulted my ancestors.
So yeah, I am in the "wait and see" camp. On paper it is actually a small buff to builds like mine, and I am curious how it will feel in practice once everything (density, HP, loot) lands together.

So if visual clarity will still be an issue after the density nerf, is the answer to nerf it more?
I think I was pretty clear in what I wrote. It's not the only cause, But it is the biggest one from which others cascade. Not to mention the various other things high density negatively affects.
For the atlas tree optional density for zoom zoom enjoyers... I don't think there's much they can do about that. More monsters on screen just equals more effects. What do You want them to do exactly, make them stationary training dummies? Visual clarity is incompatible with screens filled with monsters. It's like asking water to stop being wet...
Heck, think of it like this... So Let's say you're looking for your friend in a crowd. Will it be easier to spot your friend in a crowd of 8 people or in one of 40?..
When I'm looking for my friend in a crowd of 40 I'm not actively trying to rain chaos on the 40 people so I can loot their bodies after they're dead though, kind of a moot analogy.
