I had tons of fun in Abyss HC with LA Deadeye. What is wrong about that fun?

i think OP was referring to all the posts on the forums like "remove tailwind" "remove rhoa" "giga nerf gem levels " giga nerf ES " "giga nerf fun"

the forum is full of these because some people cant stand it when others are having fun

Yeah, these are the same "we want slow and combo gameplay, muh meaningful" idiots whom are clamoring for an watered down dark souls cosplay, because they think that will make the game "hard".

Like there's anything hard in this game lol.

You mean the direction GGG initially had planned, and now is going back to?

Seems like you didn't play 0.1, if you think there wasn't anything hard lol.

I'm a player who is not super smart but had tons of fun struggling and eventually succeeding in Abyss HC with LA Deadeye. Why does everyone hate that?

All these players posting hate for a fun build that makes people happy is bizarre to me.

The problem is simple

1- People want loot, and most people hate to feel they are behind. Thats why most ppl follow build guilds, optimized farms etc. And this normal

2- We have a type of build thats called ''zoomer build''. Usually you screen kill monsters with 1 or 2 buttons, and then you move to the next area and repeat as fast as possible. That means you need insane movespeed and aoe effects. Poe1 is almost 100% like that. People dash, teleport, and move at insane speeds, usually with minimap open, hundreds of mobs and effects, screen freezing, and they dont even see whats happening. Usually this kind of player hates anything that slows them down, they hate campaigns, complex combat mechanics, combos, meaningful combat, and even map rolling, having to pick up loot in the ground etc. Its all about maps per hour and divs per hour. If they could skip campaign and turn an auto loot and auto move it would be even better. Aaaannndd, there is no problem about it, everyone likes different things.

3- The problem is, this kind of gameplay should be doable in easy content with worse loot, which would be compensated by their insane maps per hour. But, when zoomers can clear the most difficult content of the game doing that, everyone feels like they need to create a zooming build, otherwise they will fall behind. And in the end, that guts the game, 95% of the possible builds and gameplay styles go to the trash because of this.

4- Loot does not need to be worse with slow gameplay. Instead of doin 30 maps in 1 hour for 30divs, you could do 3 really hard content to get the same 30 divs, you just need to have really hard AND rewarding content. If content is hard enough, you wont insta kill everything, so there is no need to have 200 movespeeed, dashes and thunders over the screen, because you need to engage combat.

5- Dont get me wrong, i love poe1, it was great for the last decade, but im tired of doing the same build ( the skill change, the effect change, the itens change, but its all the same - dash, jump, teleport, hit a button and kill screen), thats why poe1 players abandon the game 2 weeks. Because you get bored fast

6- Zoomers can have their spot and farming strats, but if they are the ONLY profitable strat, and can clear every content, we will destroy the game. The druid looks amazing, but poe1 zoomers were saying on twitch ''slow, slow, logout, logout''. This behavior will turn the game into poe1 part II. And that kind of gameplay is outdated, we need something new. Combat needs to be fun, not only the tink.

7- Nobody wants to take away your fun if you like zooming, but zoomers deservee a spot in the game, not the whole game. Otherwise, you will bee thee one that does not allow ppl to have fun. And remember, the argument ''you can play the way you want'' is only true if zooming is in the same level of farming level of other gamplay styles
