Arbiter of Ash

Hey :)

I think that the idea of giving a real reward killing the arbiter of ash is pretty good, by that I mean being able to craft your tablets afterwards, it should be important to kill the arbiter.

However buffing this boss is so stupid, do you think about hardcore players sometimes ?
The design of the boss is so bad, you just have to kill it fast otherwise it kills you.
You want it to be hard, so not knowing how to do you just put some stupid mechanics that will OS players randomly.
Currently, to be able to fight arbiter you must be sure to kill it very fast, and you just made it worse, tell me where is the point ?
Why isn't there someone within your team who understand those things ?

You want a good arbiter fight ? Just make a good boss design, don't fake difficulty with stupid random OS mechanics.

Another thing, why do hardcore players still don't get experience doing pinacle bosses, is it that hard to understand that on hardcore mode there is no point not getting xp because you can't lose some ? I'm very sorry but no need to be any genius to think of that.

Killing it so fast that it can't one-shot you isn't really an option for many players and it's also not the intention, hence the buff.

The only way to reliably win this fight is to get yourself 35% movement speed boots, a decent overall build and learn how to dodge the one-shots consistently. Since you have unlimited attempts at basic difficulty (which I find is really fair), you have that opportunity at essentially no cost apart from time and some nerves.

I don't like that fight, either, but that buff won't make much of a difference.

That boss does have some weird mechanics. I still haven't figured out what you're suppose to do during the last phase when he calls a single circle you have to get inside or you get one-shotted. Because every time I go into the circle he just melts me with some flamethrower attack. lol...

So it's death either way. Luckily he doesn't always do it, so I can beat him when he doesn't use that move.
Arbiter of Ash
im a messed up boss
he spawn hes skills offscreen he can cast few skills at the same time and many players find it very hard to see what is happening on the screen to avoid the attack
I'll probably just get someone to kill him for me and continue my mapping in peace. I never cared much about pinnacle bosses, especially if they have one-shot attacks.

How much HP does he have at T1?

At the end you kind of agree with me, because the reason you feel it's ok is that you have unlimited attempts. It clearly should'nt be this way.
The thing is, as a hardcore SSF player I have only 1 try no matter what, you understand the issue.

Conclusion : GGG make a stupid boss design, but hey to compensate that they will give players infinite attempts which, again, makes no sense, because as you said it removes the challenge for softcore players. And, we, hardcore players are stuck with these stupid choices.

I'm sure they are a lot of players within GGG team because the game is great, but there is clearly a lack of good players within their team. Because of this they lose a lot of time and generate much more frustration than needed.

Thanks for your replies mates 😁

Easy. Wait outside the circle until the flamethrower attack is almost done, then dodge roll into the circle until the bomb goes off. It goes a bit against the "regular" modus operandi, but once you had this a few times, it's one of the easier attacks. Going from circle to circle is much more difficult.

Examples:

ED/C Lich
Lightning Arrow Deadeye

Thanks for the tip. I'll try that. Only time going from circle to circle gave me a problem was when they appeared off screen and I didn't know which direction to run. lol
It's the culmination of all the bad boss ideas rolled into one. As much as I want them to fix arbiter, they need to fix their 1-shot mindset first. Which means taking a look at balancing player regen, defense, and damage. All of which is too much effort so this solution stays.

I despise that they hide a juicing mechanic behind an encounter like this.

That's the problem I had. And I am pretty sure that feedback of the double one shots lining up was acknowledged and allegedly fixed but I can confirm, it was still a thing in .3 It killed me twice because of the overlap. Like I am stuck in the circle to avoid the one shot dance but then he does the one shot laser beam right into the same spot and its impossible to dodge both while staying in the circle.
