I haven't seen his video, but I've seen the spectre wiki spreadsheet which tested all the changed spectres, and found at least two were endgame-viable, with a few more that needed testing once 0.4 went live.
Edit: I'm not far along enough to test myself, but for anyone curious: Cultist Archer and Vaal Guard both appear buffed for 0.4. If Ghazzy said otherwise, he might be wrong. But I doubt he said they were worse than in 0.3.
people look and see owh the number went up from the vaal guard but they dont realize that having less reservation means less vaal guards means u lose damage compared to before even when the singular vaal guard does more damage its not significant enough compared to having additional vaal guards

I think Truditoru commented on that when reviewing the patch notes. Multiple spectres were buffed, so the total power at endgame is still unclear. I'm running a spectre build this league, so I'll be able to test sooner or later. You might need fewer minions to have the same effect. And the cocaine ants were melting everything anyway, so there was room for a nerf.
dont need to get to endgame to know the buffed spectres are all trash.

minions feel worse than .3 and they felt pretty aweful in .3. and they sure as shit feel worse than .1 and .2.
this op is correct about the huge nerf in his op post. and im sure there were MANY MORE.
we have posted since .1 on how to fix minions. they dont give a shit apparently.
minions, spectres in particular... will continue to suck ass, until at minimum, spectres are made at least to 'fast' movement speed as a baseline default every spectre is made to that speed on cast.... so they are not wisping across the screen every 2-3 seconds to catch up to you.
skeletons are all baseline terrible until you have 100+ divines worth of gear.
and even then are still not omg op top tier must play.
or until bone rings are put in. which would take literally, 5 minutes for a high school coder to put into this game. with the correct minion stat boosts on them.
or until the passive tree is made non trash for minions.
or 100 other things that have been suggested since .1 that this company doesnt give a shit about.
and all of this means dogshit... cuz the whole archtype is based off on +gem levels. that where ever you see it on any gear type/jewel/etc... means it is at minimum 1-3 divine for even the worst possible rolls on anything including the + level because it is basically the highest weighted stat in the game.
even powered zealots and vaal guard if you compare them to other builds or even to the new druid the clear speed is slower than druid xD even if the minion can keep up with your character the time delay between attacks and them having to stay in point to cast said attack your already 2 screens behind a druid sadly XD the only redeeming factor of minion builds was the boss damage but other builds can get more boss damage WAYYYY cheaper than specters right now the cost vs performance of spectres is abysmal right now
GGG took an L this current patch and yet again lightning arrow and explosive shot are still on top

Seems GGG doesn't want us to play summoner of minions any longer.
prism guard now gives 50 flat spirit and 1% increased spirit reservation efficiency per 100 life on your char
this sadly does not make up for what we have lost and this is only good if your playing infernalist its dogshit for endgame builds like lich

new prism guardian is "1% increased Spirit Reservation Efficiency of Buff Skills per 100 Maximum Life". nothing to do with minion reservation.

I dont know what the problem with minions is so far espcially since i didnt see any changes to skele snipes, i soloed uber arbiter with them in .3 with a 50div build i put together and ill probably do it again to fund my druid ideas now i will state, minions in vaal temple not teleporting while i get mugged behind the door is pretty damn trash
