Map closing while in Vaal Temple

How stupid of me wanting to do the league mechanic when it becomes available.

The alternative would be to check from what instance you port into the temple. If it is a map (campaign or endgame) the timeout for instance deletion gets increased to 30-45 min. That's usually sufficient time to complete one fully stacked out temple.

no need to go in absolutes, no one asked for "indefinitely", and this is not about resources.

The portal opens then and there, as if player asked for it... game forces it...

make every 6 seals call Alva and take notes [whatever] and have design "waystone" to open portal in hideout.
Hell, make it possible to do 24 maps uninterrupted and then 4 entries in to temple to do 4 temple "steps". And save the resource at the same time. No one asked to spend the resource by opening gate immediately.

This is just unpolished design which makes you lose content you want to do, if you follow "flow the game".

If you consider "finishing map to go to temple and not to lose map" a smart play, this means we have to fight in game game technical design, rather game content.
