Shadow Nerfed Lock Drops Are Ruining Temple Building

GGG, seriously, by now, for everyone trying to build a temple, it’s pretty obvious that you guys shadow-nerfed lock drops. I’m getting more lock medallions from Garrisons than from Spymasters, and I genuinely ask myself: WHY? Really, why?
Building this temple, even as a full-time player, has been a terrible experience. It’s like trying to build a LEGO tower, and every time you make a small step forward, your younger brother kicks it and says, “lol, try harder.” You guys might be thinking, “Oh, we have to protect the economy.” To be honest and I believe I’m speaking for at least 80% of the player base at this point in the league I don’t give a @#! about the economy right now. I don’t even care about Divine drops from my temple. The only fun I’m having is building my snake, because guess what? You guys actually made a fun league mechanic. I really don’t care if a Divine goes down to 1 Ex. Just let us build our temples, have fun doing it, and then quit the league. Next league, you can fix and rebalance everything the economy needs. But right now, what’s the point of reverting the lock change if LOCKS DON’T DROP AT ALL, DUDE?! And if you really want to stick with this bad decision of nerfing lock drop rates, first of all: why did you think it was a good idea to do this in the background without announcing it? Seriously? Do you guys really enjoy frustrating your player base? Until I noticed that my drop rate had drastically decreased, I ended up losing half of my temple. Then I searched the forums and finally found that many other players are experiencing the same issue. If you had at least announced it, maybe I would have changed my strategy or, honestly, just quit the league earlier. Why not reset all temples, then? We can’t drop locks anymore, everyone already has at least 8 Spymasters in their temples, and we don’t want to watch streamers who already finished their temples having fun while we’ll never be able to accomplish the same thing. Just reset everything and end the story. And if, by some miracle, the drop rate issue was actually a bug and you’ve fixed it, then ignore everything I said, and I sincerely apologize. Bugs happen, and we’re in early access. But if this was truly a shadow nerf, you guys really disappointed me. I’ve played this game for years, and never before have I felt the need to take my time to write such a long complaint. I hope I never have to do this again. And one final tip: if you revert this as well, don’t change anything else about the temple until the end of the league. Just fix the bugs, and everything will be great. I quit the league coz cant keep watching my 68 rooms destroy without lock… its frustrating i went from 68 to almost 37 now… 7 runs no lock medallion and garbage generator, commander dropped 3 in a row… and i dont know the reason why restricted room reroll drop rates being so high… i may use it once or twice not for 10 times… its crazy and frustrating to keeping the temple only to get destroyed each time you get 60 crystals and run it.
GGG destroyed one of the best league in poe2… hope devs are happy |

I won't tell from my perspective because I am done with league, but I can see that people still are able to build temple like before with no issues. It can be just bad RNG.

I too have noticed this and wondered if the shadow nerfed it i went from getting 4+ a run and I'm now fighting for my life to get 2 and yes rng is a thing but iv done 10 runs now and never go above 3 the one spare and the 2 i find in the temple its pre consistent on finding 2 but if i get the "bad RNG" it over but if they said were nerfing the rate i too would take a different approach

I have tried for 3 days building that snake temple....to see it getting destroyed without lock again and again.
The nerf killed it! I dont give a shit about the divine drop..I just wanted to be able to build that temple for fun. Not possible anymore. I suppose that is the Vision! See you next league. I am done with this one |

Itemized locks are bad design anyways. They should be like other meta progression where you earn a certain number per turn and always have that number every turn whether thats 2 or 3. Like in any system like this getting locks is absolutely required as soon as it exists in the form it does. So they say they want variety but people have no choice but to get 10-12 spymasters to sustain a temple with the current design.

i have 10 spymasters im my main "snake" and i cant get more than 2 locks a run which leads me to beleave they have done a shadow nerf and there not saying and i wouldnt be surprised if they did do it cause my understanding is they dont want us players to do the snake "snake" but again i could be just unlucky but i not that unlucky

i agree with this post. lock drop rate has been nerfed so hard this week, at least for me running 15 temple runs per day with same temple.
i mean im fine if they want to nerf something but at least announce it, so people know what they are getting themselves into (as the post suggested), or maybe GGG intentionally did this so people keep playing. anyways, some clarification from GGG would be nice on this topic for new players trying to build a new temple. |
