I have a "slight" idea about this orb: something that's even more rare than an Exalted Orb, and all it does is saves the links on an item, so the immediate next Fusing roll doesn't reduce their number...

so instead of actually making crafting viable by binding orb drops to area level, or increasing the odds, or making orb-RNG adaptive by remembering failure streaks - let's just add yet another orb I have no chance of finding, unless I open my ***** wallet and buy it RMT. awesome idea, right?

I'm sorry for the sarcasm, but GGG's habit of "fixing" one fucked-up mechanic with another fucked-up mechanic is just frustrating.
why don't you just give up and add gold to the game? it's not like anybody except the super-mega-rich uses high orbs to craft.

i can't fathom how people can't get orbs , i mean without any major drops you can make 1-2 exalts a day just out of chaos orb recipes and minor orb drops.
maybe it lets you re roll uniques as in the stats you carnt normally roll

It's not typical - it's very rare. Almost every time we do our news announcements, I post them to the announcements forum and link that post in the twitter feed and on the facebook page. You can see that that pattern extends back to late last year.

Orb is account bound on pickup, item is account bound on use of orb.

Let's keep random ideas coming :


Eternal orb : Keep a node in the passive tree activated eternaly weither you respec points or not. ( cannot be used in keystones and does not increase the limit of points that can be allocated to the tree : 120 )

Eternal orb : Sacrifice your char to give all his progresse to another character ( the progress points will be used to improve the nodes on the tree : 20% life node of +20 life becomes +35 life ) ( then your soul will remain eternally within your chars.. )

Eternal orb : If your HC Char die His body will trasnform to a statue that will remain eternaly in the battlefield ( character must be lvl 85+ )

Eternal orb : applied to a HC item, the item will go to HC stash if the HC char dies.
Eternal orb : lock the item, can't be fused, j,chrom anymore to prevent miss clicks... Unlocking the item with another eternal orb.

My guess: Its crafting properties will be irrelevant because its rarity will dictate its use as currency.

Chaos recipe, huh? I currently have 2 Chaos Orbs at level 72. it's the best kind of orb I have.
doing the recipe on my entire stash would give me 3 more. maybe 4.

1 Exalted Orb is how many Chaos? 30 in trade?

and how many rares over item-level 60 do I get per day? is there a certain way to get them as a melee that can't run around with full IIQ/IIR gear?
do I need Chaos Orbs and Alchs to roll yellow maps, which may (or may not) produce something of value? yes.

do you understand now, how people can't get orbs?
