CI (Chaos Inoculation) GUIDE
After seeing so many posts about asking for help with Chaos Inoculation (CI) builds, I figured it would be beneficial of posting the mechanics of CI. Let's go back to the basics!!
PLEASE READ BEFORE ATTEMPTING CI FOR YOUR OWN SAKE!!!! Passive Tree Description Chaos Inoculation Maximum Life become 1, Immune to Chaos Damage Information via Path of Exile wiki: Chaos Inoculation (CI) is a keystone passive skill which sets your life to 1 and nullifies chaos damage. Although you must survive entirely on energy shield instead of life, immunity to chaos damage can be a significant advantage. You also gain access to three +8% energy shield passive nodes and a 20% multiplicative energy shield passive. Interactions The chance of being and duration of both being stunned and status ailments is based on your base life before CI takes effect. Immunity to chaos damage includes the degeneration effect of Blood Rage while retaining other benefits of the skill. Maximum Life modifiers such as Increased Maximum life, Reduced Maximum life, etc. apply to the life before CI is applied. Reducing Maximum Life will effect stun and status ailments as described above. "On Low Life" will never trigger while CI is enabled. Effects such as Pain Attunement and One Low Life mods on gear will not activate. For these effects, you must have 35% or less of your current maximum life. Chaos Inoculation sets your maximum life to 1. "On Full Life" will always trigger because you are always at 100% of 1 life. WARNING! The keystone Blood Magic will instantly kill a CI player when he/she casts any spell. This also applies to skills supported by Blood Magic. Mana potions can have the Caustic mod that removes life on use (+60% mana recovered. Removes 15% from life.) This will also kill you. Reservation vs Reductions When Life reservations apply they are rounded up and kill you. For example Blood Magic + Tempest Shield. Life reductions apply before CI which resets life to 1. For example from Ephemeral Edge CI Builds It is generally best to wait until you have high ES (at least ~2000) before taking CI because it's much easier to survive on life at lower levels. Don't be afraid to take life passive skills for survivability while leveling up, since you can remove them later. Characters with CI are more susceptible to stun and status ailments because of their low base life. Stun can be mitigated by increasing the Stun Recovery stat with items and passives or by using the unique necklace Eye of Chayula. Status ailments can be reduced with high elemental resistances or items such as Dream Fragments Chaos Inoculation works well with some other keystone passives: Zealot's Oath applies life regeneration to energy shield. Regen effects that are based on maximum life become based on maximum ES. Note that "regeneration" does not include life flasks. Ghost Reaver converts life gained from life leech into energy shield Vaal Pact can be added to Ghost Reaver for instant leeching. Life flasks have no effect in CI, although any ES regeneration from Zealot's Oath will be disabled. Последняя редакция: NeOZealouS#1834.
