MoonYu's contribution to Path Of Exile

MoonYu's contribution started way back in closed beta when the very name Path Of Exile was only heard whispered at speak-easies in hushed tones. GGG needed only the very best testers available but they were all busy so they accepted MoonYu, partly out of necessity and partly for their own amusement.

Right from the start GGG could tell that they had chosen wisely, for MoonYU was different from the other testers. Whilst they were all participating in the end game discussions about fine tuning, MoonYu was still navigating through the start menu. Going at his own pace he chose his character, after thinking about a name for an eternity he decided upon the name "Me".

After that there was no stopping him. He charged into battle, relentlessly clicking the mouse buttons in a blur of activity. Most battles ended the same way, being reborn right back at the beach. The first few zombies had the wood over poor old MoonYu.

GGG had never seen such a consistent fail rate and had to implement the secret "Moon clause". If a player is struggling so badly that they can't get to the first town, then they would become invincible, almost godlike in the way they reflected all damage back to their attackers.

Unfortunately the experience has never worn off for MoonYu, as he still thinks he is a divine being, and has now started his own church. Please everyone for your own protection, don't visit the church of the Moon for he is a false prophet.

Great stuff here and all well documented. It's well known by those in the know that MoonYu's inability to get beyond Twilight Strand in over 100 attempts has single-handedly has given rise to the expressions "Epic Fail", "UberSuck", and the ever popular "Noob". It has been theorized actually that MoonYu would have had better results had he just leaned on the keyboard accidentally and allowed his dog to control the mouse. Even after months and months of playing his skill tree was still little more than a twig. We all owe a debt of gratitude for his monumental failures for both the super secret invincible mode and for inspiring the rest of us, regardless of age or skill, to feel good about our own pathetic game playing abilities.

I for one would like to go on record for standing up and saying "Thank you MoonYu and may you forever embrace the suck."
We can easily forgive a child who is afraid of the dark; the real tragedy of life is when men are afraid of the light.
Suck like a fox!

I used this game tweak that I so pathetically needed and suckered them good! I made it to Merciless last night with my solo self found Shadow! Sure I died a record 2.78 million times(per act), but I made it! Now i just need the GGG programmers watch me die another 1.3 billion times to get off this beach again.

As an experiment to see if I could indeed play as poorly as MoonYu, I have rigged my keyboard to a high voltage battery that shocks me, rendering me unconscious for minutes at a time. I was still able to progress through insane difficulty using solo self found.

My next challenge will be to see if I can progress further than MoonYu using a typewriter that I'm only able to touch with my butt.

So....

How did this experiment go? I'm still stuck.
I think I'm going to need a bigger typewriter.

I gave up on the idea of using a typewriter to play POE as that would be just dumb.

So my next challenge will be to use a braille keyboard whilst blindfolding myself and wearing five pairs of gloves so as to limit the effectiveness of sense of touch. I will then play left handed whilst standing upside down on my head and humming the words to MoonYu's favorite Tiny Tim song.
"Withdrawing in disgust is not the same as apathy"

good luck. I'm still stuck. (Level 60 something) I hope maybe, just maybe to get to Hillock before Christmas.
