Error: Unrecognized or bad HTTP Content or Transfer-Encoding while downloading

So after running the installer, it spends time "Allocating Space...", and then it starts to download a 4.56GB game, but everytime it does, it gives me an error at a random % of completion, first time it was in the 60%, then at 10%, and a bunch of other numbers (everytime I uninstall, delete the folder and begin from scratch).

The error it gives me everytime is: "Error: Unrecognized or bad HTTP Content or Transfer-
Encoding while downloading" followed by, for example: "http://patch209.pathofexile.com:8095/patch/0.9.13.23/Audio/Sound%20Effects/Ambient/1_1_7_3_The_Upper_Prison.ogg".

Then what I do is press OK and rerun Path of Exile, what then happens is it somehow thinks the game is downloaded, because it starts downloading mini-patches, like 250mb, after that I get to press the Launch button, and it fails to run. I rerun Path of Exile and patches just keep coming in various sizes, from 4mb to hundreds of mb, and you guessed it, it never runs.

I get fed up and I uninstall PoE in Control Panel, delete the "Grinding Gear" folder in my installation location, and the whole process starts all over.

(Install installer) ---> (Starts downloading 4.56GB game) ---> (Error at random percentage) ---> (Rerun PoE) ---> (Endless Mini-patches)

As you can see I'm quite fond of how this game looks and really want to play it! If I have to sit through hundreds of mini patches and it will get me to play the game, please tell me so. All suggestions are appreciated!

I am at the moment perservering and sitting through the mini patches, hope it works! Once I find a way that works I will come back as soon as possible for whoever else got the same problem!

Something similar happened to me. I redownloaded the game a few time but the same problem popped up where it said i had an issue. I ended up going into the program section and manually deleting the folder. After that, the download worked properly.

Ok, as it turns out those hundreds of patches and a few more errors later, it finally downloaded the full game!!! Even after I ran PoE and it gave me a "Failed to initialise" window like 5 times in a row without trying to download, it will eventually give you luck and start downloading again.

Thier installers % left is based off of what is actually left. If it hits 10% and starts over, that 10% isnt lost.
However, if you are getting told to fuck off that often its probably a firewall being a jackass. TUrn off your silly mcafee or norton, they do next to nothing to protect your machine. They do however make it run slow.
