I understand that but the way drops work its like if you expect to prosper in any way just by killing you are an idiot. In and arpg that should be the BEST Way to make loot/currency. It shouldn't be all day koams/bors dropping g but it should at least seem like a legit way to progress. If that were the case rmting/Botting/farming noobs wouldn't be the go to move on damn day 3 of the league. Oh and people would be using their damn exalts instead of shopping bis items. They would try to damn loot something their selves. I can't for the life of me figure out how people think trading is better than finding or creating. Smh...

Dude it's cool and all that you swallowed the D3 Kool-Aid and think that the best way to get items in an ARPG should be from farming. But sadly when there is good item diversity that just can't be the case. When there are so many different items dropping you need to have an economy where people can trade freely in order to complete builds.

D3 loot 2.0 still doesn't understand this. BoA items are a complete joke and shouldn't be anywhere near an ARPG...

Don't hate the fact that people are better at economics than you. It must be rough for you in real life to see people with nicer houses and nicer cars. Trust me when I say that 99% of the rich people in this game worked very hard for their wealth, and the few botters there are don't really effect the economy that much.

People always underestimate just how many people play this game ALL DAY LONG...

I lol'd. Dunno if you really believe that or not. Are their legit rich people in game? Absolutely. Is botting and RMT/FG really this tiny % you think? Absolutely not.

I've already caught a couple of the people who got 8 stars last league buying exalts with FG in the new ones.

And there is the rub. You assume I'm worried about people being better or having more.

The problem is that the crap exists in spite of them saying that we have dsync to prevent it. Dsync is the problem. Don't say this is this way because we are stopping x and then sit back while x destroys everything anyway.

Drops are shitty because they assume the hard-core are going to nolife but instead you have botters and flippers trivializing the entire fkking game. I mean look at standard... Is that really that way be a useful the hardcore farmed thousands of exalts? Give it a week and these new leagues will be the same.
@mrJerk

every popular online game with "economy" and valuable items will have RMT/botting problems. There is no universal solution. People will always find ways.

removing valuable items from game would be a way how to beat rmt:)

you can help ggg by ie. reporting your friends who use it, or come up with some new great idea how to detect this activity. Or play the game and dont care what others do, play selffound or whatever. Anything would be better than whining on forums

e: oh, and I forgot: You can also pay team of anti-bot people who would work around the clock to catch botters and prove them guilty;)

All I have to say about this thread is:
Let's say you have a botting program that you've just tested, and it seems to work. What would you do?
1) Continue to run your bot in the leagues which are about to end, giving GGG time to detect your bot and prevent its operation in the 1.1 patch, or...
2) Sit on it until the new leagues start, then run as many bots as possible to profit off of new league hype as much as possible.

RMT and botting go wherever players go, to the extent which players go there. New expansion draws in a lot of returning and new players. So of course there's going to be a massive frenzy of RMT/botting activity just as the new leagues start.

edit: Just to clarify, I'm not saying botting is a huge portion of the PoE economy. What I am saying is that if some event causes the number of players online to roughly triple, that same event is also going to cause the number of bots online to roughly triple.

Assumption 1: on average, 5000 players are playing in Ambush league at any given time. Assumption 2: on average, an exalt drops every 200 hours of play time.

This means 5000/200 = 25 exalts enter the Ambush economy every single hour. That's 600 exalts a day. And that's only pure exalts, nothing else. I claim that botting has very little impact on the economy. People just like to whine when they suck at the trading game.
GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence.

Lol. What are you talking about. D3 has been uninstalled from my pc since 1 MO after release. I don't play that shit. I don't play poe anymore either. They both have shitty systems.

And what the hell do you mean drops can't be the best way? Wtf does that even mean? Why kill shit then? Just get an exalt and flip noobs all day? Is that doing good in the game to you? God dammit... Where has gaming gone when an entire genre based on killing things and picking up their drops then putting them on until you are at the pique of awesomeness is changed to killing stuff then hoarding to buy stuff to put on then holding onto that to buy the best stuff in a year.

A couple people would be far less than 1% man...
But I admit that I could be very wrong. It could be 5%. But I really don't think so. Not with the amount of trade spam happening constantly and how aggressive people work the economy.

I hope this is a joke. You even compare the PoE economy with RL economy and still believe this?
