One thing to realize... that this spam indicates that all the "this game is dying" threads are utter bullshit. If it were dying, we wouldn't be seeing a market for items.

They probably have something like this. But every time you write a specific algorithm like that, you can already prepare yourself that they will try to work around it anytime soon.
That's why it's a smart script. It updates itself when moderators manually flag new ad posts with spam. There is no working around it really. In the current case flagging 1 topic as spam would hide them all.

Well, the forum tech overall is pretty dated. Last time I asked about updates in this direction a dev explained that the guy responsible for the website is also responsible for major work on the game and it's content.
Maybe they did not find the time to work in a smart script or it simply got bugged as fuck with a minor change. Either way they need to get their shit together. :P

Haven't played it, but I was under the impression that you could still trade in D3, there just wasn't an auction house. Why would RMT stop if there's still trade?
It actually sounds kinda nice. Good progression for your character by just playing the game, and a small but inefficient market for Godly gear trades. Really wish PoE worked like that. Wouldn't need a better trade system if there was only a market for extremely rare, but rather unnecessary gear. A prestige market. Instead, we have an inefficient market that's flooded with crap from all tiers, and high end stuff is generally build enabling.
A shame D3 has such a crappy character building system.

Yeah. You can swap legendaries in your current play group for 2 hours after they drop. That's helpful, but isn't really they type of loot system I want :-(
