Atziri Minion Add phase -- DPS check reasonable?

None of the ones you listed require a DPS check. Or you're not understanding what a DPS check is. DPS check = do certain damage within a given amount of time. Hence damage per second.

jungle valley = Avoid/tank spider spawns, chip away at main spider slowly when it appears.
torture chamber = Dodge the totems, hide behind pillar during laser, chip away at boss health.
vaal temple = Chip away at each boss slowly while running around in circles.
tunnel = Chip away at Sea Witch boss health. Sea witch spawns can be avoided.
labyrinth = Avoid devourers. Snipe boss's HP slowly.


same goes for atziri :).
detonate dead trivializes that phase. there you dont have to do dps but detonate x corpses.

and in fact all of those CAN be dps checks. if you cannot tank the boss + minions you have to clear minions faster than the boss spawns them. that IS a dps check.

also there is no hard dps check here either. it should easily be possible to kill atziri without killing a single minion in her sacrifice phase.

all those low life spectral throwers are overkilling atziri so much, they could be killing her 10 times. 90% of the time fighting atziri are phase transitions in those fights
The minions have barely any life, it's hardly a DPS check....

It's not a dps check, it's an aoe check.

My build for example is an EHP tank that focuses on single targets and small groups, but lacks big aoe.

I can facetank atziri and fight here endlessly, no problem at all. Simply because i cannot kill the minions all at the same time without altering my build or utilizing an alternate set-up to what i am using.

(i am a coc+ek build ehp tank based, so you might be able to understand how this phase poses a problem for my build.)

I think the game already rewards aoe player enough. I think i do maps at a 1/3 rate of a big aoe clearer '-.- and my specialized ehp tank is unable to kill a boss that she can just stand next to 24/7, it's pretty brutal lol.

1) If you are constantly attacking a boss with ES, they cannot regen their ES, even if you do 1 damage to them. So, that is not considered a DPS check.

Inga has her regen aura applied to ES instead of life. As I said the ES and LL ones are lesser examples. I'm sure there are more bosses/exiles that have this behavior but I just pulled out the ones that I know.


Just fought Igna in a 72 map and it seems like she barely has any regen due to RF. Not sure how she is in higher level maps though.
