Pledge of Hands vs Mjölner vs Windripper

This staff won't hold a candle to 2 good wands.

If you can't get 2 good wands or wand and shield, this is the next best thing. 7 link is nice but you give up a lot of regen and over 220 spell and crit potential.

This staff drop rate is insane with an average of 6 that show up on peo goods every day.

It's worth will eventually normalize to what it is really worth which is anywhere between a few ex to 40 or so depending on roll and links.

The fact that players are asking 70+ for it is a joke and talks to the elitist greed in this game - or just stupidity. New players don't have that kind of bank roll, and vet players know it's not worth it given its drop yet so they aren't buying.

It's also really expensive due to the state of leagues. Many don't care about standard so will pay whatever to simply try out a new unique. There is no 1 month league/4 month league yet so many are testing out random things.

I personally started using exas on random gear since I have zero attachment to my hc/standard wealth.

Any player with a decent bit of game knowledge knew Mjolner, Windripper and Voltaxic were incredibly powerful the second they saw them. This staff is not. level 30 gets you 10% more cast speed than level 20. 100% increased mana gives you free clarity and good regen, nothing else. The spell damage does not compare to even just +2 gems on a lategame build.

Unless you 6-link it it will most likely be beaten by a wand/shield combo every time.

That refers not only to OP uniques.

I've sold Infernal Mantle for 2 exalted shortly after it was added to game. How much is it worth now? 2 chaos? Or nothing at all?

Another example - Atziri's Acuity is clearly broken AS FUCK. First examples got sold for SEVERAL MIRRORS!!! How much does it cost now? Less than 100 exalteds (around 1/2 mirror, probably).

Oh, btw, Voltaxis isnt broken itself - it just allows to bypass reflect. Reflect is a broken thing there.
Same with Shavronne's Wrappings - things like Pain Attunenent, Righteous Fire and Crown of Thorns, along with overall weakness of chaos damage dealt by mobs, are those making it OP.
Kaom's Heart (legacy) just exposes a broken game design - suddenly, no stats (besided life) and no sockets arent enough drawbacks for just 1000 life... If life pool wasnt valued SO INCREDIBLY HIGH in PoE, kaom would be balanced.

In my opinions, BTW, this new staff is a very example of BADLY DESIGNED UNIQUE. It may be not OP, but it's clearly boring as fuck. 7-link with a clearly mandatory gem, raw spell power and mana pool (which in fact just helps to manage increased mana cost). And no "awesome unique property" at all, and no specializalization really (besides self-cast)... Just like Kaom's Heart (L) - suitable for a wide variety of builds.
It's also isnt amazing until 6-L, and even then, can self-casters really compete with CoC or Mjolner? Or with physical daggers? Or maxblock/maxres tanks? I doubt... Too high mana cost and no good leech are still there, and 7-L makes that even worse.

I'll have to disagree with the assessment of the new Staff unique. It may be boring, but I say it is the first of its kind. Isn't this the only Staff that is strictly for self casting?

No one will ever use staff for CoC anyway (because of slow AS). And totems arent too powerful, either.
