I am currently making a hybrid ES/life SRS build (currently level 83), and i am torn between taking IR or not.
The investment for IR is about additional 6 points (8 points in total, but you wont need to grab +30 dex nodes anymore).
The 6 points will be later translated into cast speed nodes = 24% more cast speed

Without Grace, IR alone gives about 30% physical damage reduction (about 4k armor) and my gear is far from perfect. If i use Grace instead of Anger, i have 49% damage reduction (about 10k armor)
Not so sure if this is a fair trade-off....defense vs offense
Auras run by me are Hatred, Haste, Anger/PoF (or Grace), and Clarity (on Life), and of course arctic armor (using dream fragments and atziri foible to sustain mana drained)

I found the +ES recovery speed modes are somehow very important, since these will cut the recovery time from 6 secs to 3.5 secs.

Any thoughts on this?

it shouldn't be an issue :) a templar low life tree is close to your witch
You lose 20% mana regen or 9% cast speed.
It's not the end of the world.

this tree contains 3500+ of energy shield to build the sets and gear equips "Uber Atziri Farming" HB-SRS Summoner Low lF version ?


I'm just trying to make the templar for this build to fit with the equips and gems that build HB srs (atiziri / uber)

If i didn't miss something important the templar low life tree gets:
- 9% less cast speed
- 10% more ES (145% increased vs 135% from the witch variant,both tree grants 300 int)

The templar additional ES was a by-product.
For the record you don't need to go out of your way for a small energy shield increase.

To be fair a witch could replace 2 cast speed nodes and reach 147% ES

Long story short, if you have a high level templar you don't need to start from scratch as a witch.

Thank you Galax201 for supplying direct fact-based comparisons for us.

Gaining more ES for the Low-Life build doesn't really matter around 10,000 ES and due to recent nerfs (balance at lvl 25+ SRS imo) we must be careful not to lose to much DPS. However 9% cast speed is in the end of calculating all the diminishing returns only a less cast speed of 0.01 seconds (literally).

TL;DR:
I see no problems in the templar tree working just as fine.

now i want ask what point is better I take first and what later, for now i have a 5l staff +2 fire and 7% cast speed, "bad" ES equip give me with discipline 5,1k shield, i have no problem with mana regen for now (thanks to goldwyrm too) only a little in 50% regen map, i reach max 12 spirit at same time, for now i don't have unique flask, only normal granite and quicksilver, the res is nearly capped and i run discipline, clarity and hatred (with generosity) on mana

all this for help to advise me where put point, I don't have shav for now

in other thread i read that minion damage is better then added fire, is false or depend on build and in this is better added fire?

for now that i have CI melee damage on full life is better then added fire right? (i ask for when i switch for boss)

i tryed to do all mob, even pack of it without splash and instead a damage gem and is not bad but i can't tell for now if is better keep splash or no (i think is better splash because you use it and you are MUCH MORE expert then me xD)
