Detailed overview of Diablo 3 vs. Path of Exile

I always wonder what D3s user ratings would have looked like at metacritic/amazon if they released PoE and called it D3... Surely would not have hovered around 4/10.

Conversely if GGG had released D3 what forums traffic would look like...

RoS has improved Blizzard lot (6-7/10) but lets face it D3 sold millions of copies because of name brand. Blizzard, when they were a hungry small company, made great innovative game and ppls memories of that sold D3 not D3 itself. Since then they are just releasing stale rehashes usually successors. I think that card game was first new franchise in 15 years for blizzard.

I dont hate D3 but once they got rid of trade it was not for me anymore. Trade was the end game. Lucky Kripp turned me onto PoE and I never looked back.

I played probably more D3 that anyone posting in here over 100K elite kills so its not like I didnt enjoy it. I just like PoE more.

Some things PoE could borrow from d3 IMO to make game even better
-greater rifts which are virtually non gated and unlimited difficulty so it has end game into perpetuity. Maps get old once GG. Even Uber, which is gated behind 1600 corrupted areas or 8 exalts. I've only paid 8 exalts. Screw that noise farming low levels for reg atziri then for a chance at hope. lame.

- Difficulty slider. Not much needs to be said here. Mirrored gear ppl and super casuals can all have fun.

Not saying that D3 or any other Blizzard games are bad, but this is true. Blizzard is a giant company now, and such companies usually care more about their financial charts than anything else. If making game "more casual" brings more sales (because most people are casual), then they will do it. Same thing happened to HS, Heroes of the Storm, and probably will with Overwatch. These games are quality products (as in production value, animation, art etc.), but they simply don't cater to some people. Like us, sitting here, some of us trying to argue why they are here, and not somewhere else. Just play this, and stop trying to convince other people (or, in fact, yourself) that PoE/D3 is better. Playing one or the other does not make you "better player" or human being. Just play your thing, and shut up.

100 times more active players too, lol, I would say D3 at best has the same active player base, it sells more copies on launch, and then rapidly loses far more of them in a few weeks because thats the sort of game it is. Millions of people buy the D3 games, and millions of people sign up to PoE every year, PoE blatantly holds way more of its players for far longer which offsets the fact that D3s millions sold are maybe 3 times higher than PoE drags in each year. Blizzard sells an awful lot of copies to people who like to play a game for a week and then put it on the shelf, thats the vast majority of its sales.


Even Pewzor prefers PoE, thats why he spends so much time here, has the 3 beside his name, he just thrives on negativity and needs something to fuel it. If D3 was a better game he would be pushing grifts right now and he wouldnt even bother with this place.

i prefer PoE over D3 by a huge margin, but this statement is funny, D3 almost have more viewers on twitch then poe have active players in the evening.

second bolded is also funny, lol, only small portion of players stick with PoE.

There was a statistic somewhere, cant remember, but Chris showed it, most people stop after normal , only very small portion of people even get to merc, like really small portion.

Every time I read word "statistic", in contexts of "PoE vs D3", my eyelids twitch a little bit.
