i fucking hate the lab the concept the implementation in a hc league the idea to run into the unknown through dumb screenlong gauntlets in hope i have enough instant pots no lags crashes or rubberbanding holy the 1 fps lavatrap
the idea to lose a lvl 80 30ex+ in a fucking lvl 10 zone is such a dumb design

the atitidude of chris with the vocal minority statement while not providing any stats...you saw the lousy prophecy stats we got hurr durr who used goldrim ohh you great.....
my whole hc friendlist stopped playing we see it in feedback section we see it in declining player numbers we see it in sc migration he even gave ubber loot piniatas so ppl play it how more signs do you need ...come on

btw i wouldnt call that much time 3 posts/day during work max 10min

nothing about how endgame feels and works is changing (like Chris said was going to be the case) once we get used to the 30 new maps (in a month?) the game is going to be exactly the same with the same problems it's had for a while now.

the start stop start stop start stop cycle of mapping that we've been doing for over 3 years now is starting to eat my soul.
Yes, I'm not overjoyed with the lab either. But there's a huge fucking difference between this and being 99% harsh and negative in all of your posts over a long period of time. Seriously dude, you have a problem.

I also don't understand why some people seem to think they should be able to play THE FUCK out of a grind-based ARPG, get to know it and be able to beat it in many different ways and everything should be just as fresh and interesting as it was years ago. This is an impossibility. Just face it: the game gets old at some point. Give yourself a break, find someting else to do. It was never meant to be a never-ending escape from reality.
You have to be realistic about these things.

cmon mate take a step back and look at the picture, after the character building and gearing is all said and done. PoE and D3 function exactly the same now. Thinking that maps and rifts are the same thing is literally one of the most stupid things i have heard. A rift gives a random terrain, random boss, random mobs etc. With a map you know what tileset, and which boss, but it is as with everything in POE, far more customisable.

Uniques in POE and Legendarys in D3 serve totally different purposes.

Uniques are meant to do something... unique, uniques aren't meant to be vastly OP in all cases but to fill niche builds, rares are meant to be used in POE. In d3 its sets or GTFO

Streamers get bored with the game because they play it too much and have to play it in a certain way or get flamed

The only thing I agree with out of what he said is the HC elitism and toxicity.

(He cites he wants to try Guardians of Ember, by Runewaker Games who made Runes of Magic and Dragon's Prophet, which are literally P2W and some of the grindiest MMOs out there)

well it's not actually maps on maps..that actually makes it sound kind of interesting..

it's just..

+30 maps.

and

+ 1 or 2 extra mods on your maps.


Sorry for the gloom I am just being realistic.
Btw, I know what's the explanation for the persistent and sustained negativity of some posters over a long period of time. As they say, the opposite of love isn't hate, it's indifference. The thing is, they actually do care about PoE - they obviously care a lot to be dedicating so much time and effort in criticising it over and over again. They have a vision of what they want the game to be and, combined with their passion for the game, it degenerates over time into an attempt at emotional blackmail for GGG. 'Make the game what I want it to be, or I will be obnoxious in the forum!'.

It would be well to remember that there's a fine line between being critical and being toxic and what YOU think the game should be is not necessarily what's best for the game in a broader sense or what's GGG's vision of the game, which is, after all, theirs.

Look at Pohx's video - he's offended that people left negative comments to his video. Which was, what, some minutes long? Now imagine what it is to have tons of shit spewed forth daily, in the course of years, over the product of thousands and thousands of hours of your work.

Bottomline: I know we're all passionate about the game - we wouldn't be here otherwise - and this passion can be easily deformed into anger and unpleasantness. Let's just try to be a bit gentler with GGG, ok?

ok I am sorry but your distinction of rifts and maps is very petty.
You may as well say "rifts are different from maps because rifts are green and maps are blue"
We rather talk about how they function and play, outside of minor topics such as the tile set..(PoE generates random mobs too..)
functionally rifts are just maps with a timer, which is because D3 straight up ripped off PoE maps.
but rifts vs maps is not even the topic we are discussing about why PoE has become like D3 lol wth?

I was discussing the content in the video. I am guessing you either didn't watch it or failed to comprehend it.

At the end of the day you may as well say that all ARPGS are the same as all you do is kill stuff in an instanced area.

Saying that maps and rifts are the same is being vastly wrong. (also rifts don't have timers, greater rifts do, and they are something else altogether)
