short story: obviously. When playing vp you clear faster, care way less, and scale better according to current end game mechanics.

Maybe it is for the best. I guess before then you had vp for very end game, life regen for lab and everything else for everything else. (I believe any kind of no nonsense build can do up to some T16, mb not all guardians safely but most)

I only played vp twice: ambush and prophecy(first low life, other CI). VP is stronger than the rest, just because it allows to facemelt things. With a little bit of experience with a character using vp is just having the blast of beeing 100% sure that everything goes right in situations where it gets tricky for any regen based build. VP builds synergize from damage so naturally these tend less to "compensate" more on the tree too, these have a smoother progression and a way better clearspeed in general because of that from pretty budget gear.

I played 3 summoners in 3 different leagues and some spelltotems too. While totems can have very good clearspeed with proactive playstyle both do not come close to what VP/Slayers can attain by using movement skills and aoes all over the place.

For instance you can make a gladiator meme somehow VP by adding leech nodes. It is more point intensive than VP and it will never feel the same.

Solution is easy. Make Instant leech melee attack only.

Hello I have a question.
This is one of the only threads about VP in years, that I can completely agree with.
The berserker meta.. alright, it was OP, overpowering every other class.

But to remove instant life leech just like this.. That's the definition of an overkill.
As a quite the wealthy player, I can make it work in many different ways..

GGG says they're trying to make the game more tolerant to casuals - newbies for quite a while.
How does this (I don't use this often) demented nerf strive towards that?

A core game mechanic, been there since.. what? 0.3, beta, whatever? I don't even play that long.
Ye, let's just kill it without trying to make other adjustments first, no big deal.

Quite disappointing. There's always going to be something that's overplayed.. Why?
Because it's the best/cheapest/strongest/etc. Are we just gonna receive nerfs until there's no game left?

Im rather upset about this, to be honest.
