Kripp: Path of exile is more like d3 now
People are so obsessed with power creep and the crazy crap you find in this league. But guess what? Most of it is league dependent. It can ALL go away next league. It's fine to make your concern known, it's how GGG can gauge which way the wind is blowing, but let's not get out of hand. We might never see this crazy gear again after this league ends.

Path of exile is nothing like D3, not even in the slightest way. D3 sucks, combat included!
Personally I actually like when the low end is able to get a buff. We do not all play overpowered top-end builds. People complaining about powercreep are *in my opinion* ruining the game, and are usually playing one of the top-end builds(broken)... they have gotten ES/CI destroyed, mjöllner overnerfed and CoC completely wiped out amongst some things. This especially hurts those that did not have top end gear and did not abuse broken mechanics. Players that mostly got by by just playing the game. I am one of those players and I truly think it sucks! Some of these builds were adjusted because a few players complained the game is too easy and about powercreep. While they are not even playing normal non top-end builds. Top end builds are not what the game should be balanced around! There is a reason why some leagues are played alot more, and that reason is simple: The low-end players have a better chance to get better gear. Perandus, Abyss, etc. It has nothing to do with the top 0.01% players, but with how the low end is treated. Those top end players will always play the most overpowered flavor of the month builds, and do everything as fast as they can. There is no point in balancing the game around them, while at the same time letting those top-end players dictate how much gear will be available at the low end. I've seen Kripp play once, all he did was kite kite kite... I'm not surprised he thinks this game is more like d3 now. As in D3 all you do is kite kite kite everything. While good builds in PoE only have to kite the one shots. Balancing should take both low and top end in consideration. I used to love my non-discharge CoC char, and my self build summoner... all completely destroyed now. I do not like following/copying builds, and GGG should not push us that way! Where we can only play the flavor of the month builds with top-end equipment. If GGG keeps going the way where only the top-end builds with top-end gear are viable for end-game they will lose alot of normal players, including me! I do not care that a top-end player clears a map twice as fast as I do, after all they worked for their gear and optimized their build, just as long as I can clear it at all with my non top-end build in good gear(not top end) without dying over and over. You know, having fun... it is a game after all! I do really love PoE though, and hope to keep playing for many more years. PS: I like slaughtering dozens of monsters as fast as I can! For me feeling powerful and strong, while getting stronger, is what ARPG's are about. Последняя редакция: sarannah101#2551. Время: 8 янв. 2018 г., 13:17:50

" Except that game design is so shallow and uninspired. Greater rifts are essentially "beat the clock while we inflate these numbers!" Wailing on enemies with massive healthpools is the most boring shit in ARPG gameplay IMO. D3 is lots of fun - right up until it's not fun, which sets in right around the time the game revolves around pre-made builds and battling endless HP bloat. Are they essentially making the best of a dog's breakfast? Sure, but it's hardly a model I'd like GGG to follow. |

Kripp has been a Hearthstone player for the better part of 2 years. Honestly his opinions on POE are like asking my dentist why my toe hurts.
I'm not saying his opinion isn't relevant, but it's a dated opinion based on his preferred playstyle. I don't think he is some god's gift to ARPG's like many others do. He's just another dude that has an opinion. |

" elder/shaped items arent going away next league. kripp is right, obviously. projectPT was right, obviously. you show a player who has never seen d3 and poe before, poe in 2013 and poe in 2018, and d3, and ask them which one is closer to d3, what do you think the player will choose ? |

" They could still have challenge leagues, or normal leagues for people who like shit drop rates + trading. That would split the community up, sure, but everyone would technically get what they want. I would rather have SSF with increased drop rates, even if all my characters/items get deleted at the end of the league. All those fun looking builds I see streamers playing, I'd never, ever, ever in a million years every get the gear for. I'm stuck to playing 'budget meta', when GGG nerfs budget meta every patch with extreme prejudice. Anyone who thinks the game is too fucking easy should go play HC SSF. And if you still think that's too fucking easy, ask GGG to make you a HC SSF BLAMT league. And that would put the difficulty up to *almost* what D3 was at release. " as usual, it devolves into 'play the game with a nail in your dick your eyes closed and tell me that isnt challenging' why must we deal with arbitrary handicaps and not have the game (which was marketed as a niche game in the first place) on average be more challenging ? "everyone would technically get what they want. "
is a recipe for disaster. this motto is how niche games die. trying to please everyone instead of their core audience. and when I say die, I dont mean success/$ or popularity. Последняя редакция: grepman#2451. Время: 8 янв. 2018 г., 18:39:05
