70ex in not a trash maybe only for 24/40 max level 87.

It's absolute trash if you want good gear. Even HH this league 100-120ex+

This item alone worth 80ex.

I'm a 40/40, but only managed to make it to level 97 -- Leveling is not a priority after 93, as that is what I balance my builds around. 70 Exalts is not Standard Tycoon rich, but it's also not trash from my perspective. I'm going to guess you're going to set a new bar for "You must be level 98 or above during the league to have an opinion" now.

If your builds require 100+ exalt items then there is something seriously flawed in your builds. If you need help making a budget build, there are a ton of decent builds out there if you can't do it yourself.

Your perspective is yours, so I won't call it flawed and perhaps mapping is dead to you -- but mapping is alive and well. And after this change, my "garbage" will go a lot further as the spending power of the average player just increased as a result of this change.

70ex is literally trash.

Single good amulet from elder worth like 150ex+ (some are going for mirrors).

+1 to gems shav's worth 125ex to make in average.

Again, I think you're misusing the word literally again unless you see 70 exalts and just leave or take it out of your stash and toss it on the ground. I can't rule that out since your point of view versus mine is vastly different -- but I'm going with you are not using it correctly because I don't think you do that.

You dont need any of these things to map... i didnt use sextant block anything i didnt have biscos and i didnt even get zana to 8

I got 1 char (my first char> sunder DW... sucked ass) to 93 (highest ever somehow)
Got my poets pen char that is way better then my sunder char to 91
Got a 2nd pen cold themed char to 81? (deleted cause needed room for next league also sucked vs my VD pen)
Made a aurabot on my alt account that got to like lvl 78
Made a MF ranger that i didnt play and didnt even have mf on but it was only 75 i think?

Sure i didnt make any currency but so what i didnt really need any

I think i found about 10-12ex this league

It's not like I cannot make GC miner for 1ex and kill the shaper etc.

I like to min-max. I.e. I like to get Shavronne's +1 gems just because it mean min-maxing and some interesting shenanigans with Empower.

There is nothing wrong with striving for higher goals but noone needs three 2-socketed-Abyss items alongsinde headhunter to play the game. Literally noone (insert rant about using the word literally), except maybe Towlg as it seems.

You can easily do 40/40 without, like some of the SSF people did where currency means close to nothing.

No, I get your point. I just don't see how they are supporting arguments for your main point of "Mapping is Dead" which, if anything, it's now more alive than ever. Those of us who choose to experience the entire mapping experience are not disadvantaged by the "I want everything, and I want it now" crowd who abused a clearly broken mechanic and only "mapped" in that they played one map (technically correct but certainly missing the spirit of the term mapping). Our "garbage" now can buy significantly more because there is not 20 exalts per hour per player abusing the broken mechanics flowing into the economy -- inflating the prices of everything.


Before you say flippers again, they will always exist. They will always be able to do frustratingly well -- but their success is directly dependent on the amount of currency in the economy. They will now have less to work with and their success will decrease as a result also......another way to word it: their success is directly proportional to the amount of currency flowing into the economy.

I appreciate your want to min/max. Most of do this, just not to the point that should only be available in Standard because the game isn't balanced around that. God help us all if that is the calibration point for balance in this game.

I’m not sure anything in this post is accurate. Everything he says is dead, I never did and did just fine mapping and stockpiling currency.

Found a Bisco’s, sold it.
Ended the league with like 50 Masters sextant sitting around doing nothing after getting challenge.
Only ran random breaches as I found them.


Yet somehow had 70+ exalts to spare when I was done with league. It is almost like your statement might be.....wrong.

Maybe 70ex a league is what most people achieve and thus needs to be the baseline d or design choices.

Not even a little bit. You've mistakenly applied your goals to me. I set my goals and met them, and this was the excess. For instance, I tend to try to get all achievements and be able to beat all content with one build. Success.

If I were to look at your account and apply my goals against it, it appears you failed with 25/40 but that's not what your goal was apparently (or maybe it was...better luck next league). That's just it, if I find myself judging my performance on exalts/hours then I would not feel like I was playing anymore. I have a job for that feeling.

Mapping is about a lot more than just Exalts/Hour. I consider mapping to be an all inclusive experience that includes running hard maps of all tiers without dying.
