I hope they remove the absolute trash sextant mods that people were blocking because nobody even the whiteknights like them. This is an indirect nerf to xp and loot as well but i guess in the end these people are too brainless to realize that this won't improve their gameplay at all.
And the previous nerfs of xp gain had nothing to to with the players optimizing/exploiting the shit out of the atlas system ? Give me a break, everyone who didnt play this way had to suffer the consequences of xp nerfs, because others did. So now, that you also have to suffer the consequences of that stupid system you abused previous, you start crying while trying to hide it behind an elitist attitude.
Using sextants will still be better than not using them, but it will not be the ridicolous margin we had before, so its still a usable playstyle. On the other hand, if they hadnt done this, they would have had to adjust everything further around the existence and abuse of sextants, effectively removing all less efficient playstyles from the game. I don't know about you, but i think allowing multiple playstyles to coexist this way is better than completely fucking over one to satisfy the players of the other.
You got the point right, this doesn't improve your gameplay at all. And people that are going to race for 100 will fking spam poorjoy's for an entire week and they will be 100. So it's just to fuk up with people that like map full of monsters, because that's all what sextants are about. MORE monsters, because it sucks to walk 3 screens and see more barrells than mobs.
Nobody is abusing anything, you can run uber lab 1000000 times and get mad rich, or run 100000 shaped vault and get filthy rich too, mapping is just more fun. Sextants did what they were supposed to do. Counter the garbage density that GGG put in their maps.

Wow.... just wow! Who'd of thought the intent (primary goal) of playing PoE or any ARPG was to make scads of digital game currency. I guess as a "filthy casual" here since CB after the crash and burn playing D3 in summer of 2012 (so many Inferno dessert deaths) that the only reason I should be playing is to rack up a million exalts. Wow... just label me stupid and... wait a minute (I'm not one of the poorly educated that got suckered into voting for Trump... fuck that shit). But seriously and staying on point what your reason is for playing PoE is all about person freedom of choice. One person plays for the questing, another for the digital currency, another for the theory crafting and mega variety of builds and playing styles, some like the history GGG has woven into this arpg, others for the speed running race to 100 every 3 months, and even some for the one-shot deaths... err... probably not. The point is whether you are like the merchant in the other Wilson arpg "tried the adventurer's life... too much pain, not enough profit" or love to bash a bazillion beasts (just got PoorJoy's Asylum yesterday as a Zana Daily and ST shredded all the crazies there. The "blender" is truly op and wonderfully fun to play) it is all personal choice and no one should be saying their way to play is right and anything else is wrong. PoE is as close to the perfect sandbox open play of any arpg ever created and it's live and let live here. If you can handle the technical faults of PoE (remember The Desync Years... that was brutal) and still be playing today then why care if the way you play is enjoyable to you but makes some one else cringe. You play PoE your way and I'll play PoE my way and be happy (or else this isn't the arpg we're looking for and move on) but keep the flames out of the forums. Nuff said.
"You've got to grind, grind, grind at that grindstone..."
Necessity may be the mother of invention, but poor QoP in PoE is the father of frustration.

Who'd of thought the intent (primary goal) of playing PoE or any ARPG was to make scads of digital game currency.
Not really, I don not want currency.
Everything converted into league specifics, new uniques with top rolls, etc.
And thing is, you cannot purchase those items without currency. Hence profit per hour is important. It means I can try out more builds and item interactions.

More nonsense. The point is nobody wants to actually stop playing the game to make currency. Changes like this do exactly the opposite of what you think. The force people to stop mapping, stop playing the game IF you want some currency. Wich is sad, the game was going in the right direction. Neither should be dominant in creating wealth, now it's back to trade dominance.

Don't forget you can buy your challenges with currency too.

I think arpg should be about killing staff and finding gear not hoarding currency and buy items but that´s just me.
Btw you don´t need perfect staff to try builds. You have right to do that if you enjoy it that way but creating fantastic and innovative builds shouldn´t be about making xxx currencies/hour :)
Sextants or not you should have very good knowledge of this game to deal with this new situation and profit from it.
The situation will probably change the market and currency should become more valuable so you can buy more staff for your hoarded currency then.

I can agree.
But some items are really rare (like liches and 2 socket lich drop), so buying them is really one option you have. Let's say... chayula's breachstones were really rare even with breach zana mod.
It was like 100 chayula splinters per 100 Vault Maps (~12 hours of gameplay).
Really much if you like to fight chayula or get her uniques. Much easier to just buy uniques.
