That would only buff the living hell out of winter orb.
I think this is the right approach. There should maybe be stuff like a large increase to crit chance while channeling or something like that. Or maybe an effect that stacks with the duration you channel a skill... though that might be a bit too much.

Question: Does the "Increased damage with channeling skills" include ailments?
I make dumb builds, therefore I am.
Just realized it's 'with channeling skills' and not 'while channeling skills'

Yeah i considered winter orb after i posted.

Channeling should be = excess damage vs time/inability to move in build up.

winter orb is the opposite of that, channel vs extreme mobility and autoturret mode.
Maybe that's why i didn't register it, it's not a channeling skill, only in name/tag.

And it fucks with balancing nodes like this since it doesn't adhere to the base concept of "channeling".

Let's see if winter orb survives the spell rebalance :)
I really like the design behind this. There has not been any new notables in such a long time. Considering were getting new chaos/holy goodies perhaps a few more notables could be created to support those themes.

They tend to be on the level of 10% increased damage or worse which is a little unfortunate considering all the variation stats poe has to offer.

So Cyclone still isn't a channeled skill, and AoE still suffers from the diminishing returns rework, right? Sounds like you're still buffing things skill-by-skill which is a huge pain. Please admit the AoE nerf was a huge mistake already. But anyway, this notable is super underwhelming and I fail to see any other way of interpreting this, even with the promise of a buffs-only manifesto on the horizon.
(2-3-2019) Buff underused skills (3.23?!)+ selfcast, stop nerfing defense, build in threshold jewels (3.23?!), implement D3-style looting, add death log + MTX preview, actually rework flasks, stop balancing around the .01%, unnerf Harvest, ADD NEW WAYS TO LEVEL, finally implement Loot 2.0
