As of patch 0.10.5 the Silverbranch will split into the haves who have the +2 bow gems version and the have nots who get the new version that drops which only has +1 bow gems. I feel this is bad for the life of the game as it creates an ever decreasing supply particularly in hardcore of a very desirable unique such that the new ones that drop are strictly inferior.
The Silverbranch bow is good precisely because of its +2 bow gems and changing that mechanic on only SOME of them is an awful mistake I hope you do not make.
Please either revert this change or nerf the old ones as well.

The Silverbranch unique item has been changed so that it only grants +1 to bow skills. Old ones will not change unless you use a Divine Orb on them.

The Silverbranch isn't a good enough item anyway. It will not matter. Obviously old ones will be more valuable but not by much.
What they shouldn't do, is nerf, for instance the Kaom's Heart to +500 health instead of +1000 and keep the old one's in. Now that would be ridiculous.
This is the entire point of this thread.
The problem isn't silverbranch it's the policy of creating legacy items.
Once an overpowered unique is affected there will be far more threads concerning that unique.
Either no legacy items at all or everything becomes legacy. But somehow that policy of keeping Silverbranch and changing games is half assed.
I want to strengthen the crowd of those who don't oppose not nerfing pre-patch Silverbranches.
Yes, I own two of them and I found both of them. I treated them with respect like all my other self-found uniques and stashed them. I collect uniques as trophies.
Since I'm so unlucky with high-end uniques at least this gives me a feel of being rewarded.
Also why the complaints, not like a Silverbranch is going to change your end-game competitiveness. It's for levelling alts like Ravenclaw+Enchant was in D2... you could live without it but was a nice advantage if you had one.

It's all about the principle. I'm not a fan of creating "legacy" items, it just doesn't sit right with me.

Legacy items adds adds an element of mystique to the game just like it did in d2, a sense of history. Mysique and epicness are the main ingredients for a good game.
In real life you need the following ingredients: Mystique, Epicness, Creativity, Playfulness and Beauty.

You really think it's epic to withhold content to people we weren't lucky enough to get a unique drop?
Uniques are unique. Making a unique more unique for the sake of making it unique, isn't unique.
You just can't make everyone happy lol. I still think the game is awesome and having items in the game that you can't find in the wild anymore is awesome.
I do feel the new Silverbranch bow should look different, and possibly have a slight name change because it is a different bow than the original.
Also there are people who have used their hard earned currency to buy the original Silverbranch from other people. Taking it away from them after the work they put in can ruin the economy due to trust issues. Only a few would be willing to use their hard-earned currency to buy good items because of the fear it may be nerfed once they get it. No item that has been introduced into the game should be taken from the players who earned them.
