My Internet is not stable and If I have a disc and there is a mechanic that keeps a char logged in for a certain time I will just die like I did in diablo and why I stopped playing Diablo. If this gets in the game I have to stop playing PoE.

Will not cry or bitch but keep in mind. There are people out that have unstable Internet and get random disconnects and are fucking happy if they log in again and the HC Char is still alive.

Here's the thing, if you don't want to log out, no one is forcing you. If you are just so amazing at the game that you can handle anything the game throws at you, kudos to you. Considering how terrible the netcode is in this game, I think having an option to logout is not only nice, but is something of a necessity. Not all of us sit back with low life sporkers and watch TV while we fill our inventories with uniques. Some of us use skills, you know, like Cyclone and Whirling Blades, where it is incredibly easy to get out of sync with the server. And I'm not interested in losing my HC guys who are all 80+ for some misplaced sense of being super hardcore in a video game.

And I'll be honest, I use logout when I have to. I consider it a skill, because I've seen a lot of people die trying to do it and I am very quick thanks to my days with Diablo 2 lol. Does it make me less of a man? No, because this is a video game and I'm not going to freak out when everyone else isn't forced to play exactly as I am.

You might as well make a thread saying "The Passive Tree should be disabled" because you personally think playing without passive skills is the MOST HARDCORE WAY TO PLAY AND OMG EVERYONE HAS TO PLAY LIKE ME!

I'm done ranting, I think I got my point across.

TL;DR: Gtfo trolls, if you don't wanna logout don't log out. But most of us have enough trouble with the netcode that the option is appreciated.

Despite playing like this obviously defeats the purpose of playing hardcore I am fairly sure that no one cares if you alt+f4 during your average session. If you aim for a winning place on the ladder in a race or in a hardcore league, though, then yes, it is serious cheating and therefore a problem that has to be dealt with at some point.

How is it cheating? It isn't against any rules, everyone can use it, it is skill-based, and sets you back. If you are serious about racing you know you'll have already fallen a few places if you log out and have to start over from your last waypoint.

Calling it "cheating" is not only inaccurate, but sounds a lot like whining. The solution to this isn't to disable it, it is to become good enough that you really don't need it. And trust me, I doubt anyone who wins a race is abusing alt+f4 and still somehow winning races.

You can't remove instant log out because only solution is make a delay after choose quit (you char stay ign like 5 sec) and with that all ppl wish crash ign in area with monster will die, and there is a lot of crash, crazy lag/freez sometimes, desync ....
Same if you loose internet 2 sec ...
In a game without server problem it's still bad because you can crash or lost Interne (godly internet and computer requiered or you cant play hc)t , and In a game with lot of connexion problem it's impossible...

Only diference between sc and hc is in sc ppl start to log only at high lvl :p

And in race if you log out a lot for skip death you will not win...only things I don't really like is you don't need to manage portal scroll in race because you can go in town instant with log out
