Look, while altf4 is around, hardcore isn't worth jack. When GGG address this, random schmo A hardcore player can say he has skill. Until then, here is no way to verify he isn't an altf4ing noobster.

i have a great internet connection myself but when the server is overloaded at peak times.. i have still gotten 4 - 5 disconnections in 20 - 30 minutes just because of heavy server/player load.

Wheras at quieter times i have gone 4 - 5 hours without 1 disconnection.

Maybe its the location of I in relation to the Server. I am sure there are others with great internet connections that also for some reason get dced alot during peak times

never have disconnection issues with other online games ( not to this extent specially)

i also made myself some thoughts about alt-f4 and DC. I personally dont respect ALT-F4er .. because that is (in my opinion) against the spirit of hardcore to flee danger with a DC ..

My basic idea is, that if you loose connection (through DC/ALT-F4) your instance will be paused for 5minutes (Or some time, giving enough time to reconnet/restart the game after a crash). If you log in within that time frame, everything is fine (you log in with the standard invul timer at the place you dc'ed). If you do not log in within that time, your instance will run for another 30 sec (something along that) there you can be attacked and afterwards your game will be deleted.

This would also solve alot of problems with people crashing and dc'ing like loosing maps/progress/...

PS: The 30sec timer would have to run defintly 30sec before the end of a league, or else that timer could be exploited, if you alt-f4 shortly before a race end.

PPS: also change the standard logout to a 30 sec timer, where you can see what happens, but cannot do anything without stopping the timer so one cannot autohotkey the other logout procedure.

I dont see any idea in hardcore if you can "alt+f4" each time you are in any trouble...

Seriously, all the whining about HC players is unjustified, far more in standard league are abusive and have superiority complexes, everyone needs to get over themselves and enjoy the damn game

Look if someone abuses and quits a game to avoid a penalty, of course they will be talked down to. They are poor pathetic players, what do u expect?
