Please explain the "Make an offer" mentality...
I've always been a melee player myself. I don't know much about casters and their types of builds, or the rangers or anything. I have troubles figuring out prices on things that aren't aimed towards a melee type build. When it comes to thins like phys dps swords/axes/maces and armour gear, I usually have a price in mind and will say "12c" or something. If I have an ES shield or some wands that people are asking about, I have no idea what it's worth. No one really has b/os on poexyz, so it's hard to judge from there. I kind of feel bad when someone asks about an item and I ask them "Would you like to make an offer?". I don't want them to think that I'm trying to screw them over or anything. I'll often times just straight up tell them I have no idea what something like x item is worth.

" It works both ways buddy, I sold the mace for 8ex after all when 90% of the offers were for 10c or less from POE.XYZ browsers of course aka LOWBALLERS. poe.xyz is really what is killing trade, people just see an item and expect it to be cheap because they want it, its not the fact that I am asking a price that they are low balling it is that they are cheap, because when I say "c/o 7ex" after they come with a 7-10c offer they 100% of the time never respond back or say "oh I could get something similar for 1ex" etc. Had someone trying to buy some Tri-res life boots off me, I asked for 1EX the guy was so offended over that offer 20 mins later he msged me again to brag about some boots that were "better then mine" he got for 10c, and they were only dual res with half the life. The problem isn't people asking for offers, it is people who don't know the first thing about trading, poe, or what items are worth, they simply don't have enough currency or they are too greedy to pay a fair price, pretty much what you are doing is randomly msging tons of people about similar items to see if one is dumb enough to sell it really cheap, then turning it around saying everyone who is asking for an offer is trying to just rip you off. i ask for offers on low value item because an item is only worth as much as someone is willing to pay.
when it comes to uniques i usually have a price in mind based on average prices on trade chat and forums, and i might still ask for an offer. i do mostly regret that though cause people low ball me, even though unique item prices are easy to check |

" In economy as erratic and as complex as POE asking many traders for b/o is necessity and common sense - plus there is no other way to do it, when most of traders don't put b/o prices. If you're annoyed by it simple remedy is to put damn b/o price. Is that fat chance of getting more then it's worth really worth it to waste yours and other people's time? Each trader who complains on lowballers and time wasting newbie customers must realize that he brought it on himself. IGN STD Ajax_Deadeye| Nathaniel_Corwin| Itane_Shira| Tetra_Mayani| Arkanis_Gath

" this is plain stupid. ggg also sells in their store some pink pixels and they always know the price, it's there written in big bolded font. its not like a buyer should make an offer for that. |

Economic system is not easy for beginner like me .... i paid all my chaos ( 10 ) for a lvl 27 brass maul unique that was 10 time better then any lvl 27 weapon, it give me +500% damage so i paid 10 chaos like a noob. In my head it was so ifantastic so when the seller ask me how much i wanna paid i just put all my power to get it.
It's was before i know the realy price which was only 1 chaos. Before i know that im realy patsy |
