1.3 [Newbie Friendly] GROUNDSLAMMER BUILD

So around the Scion area, I'm probably going to skip the 3 resist nodes since my gear can handle it, but should I still go for Sentinel? Also, would it be worthwhile to grab the 3 6% damage nodes (since im skipping the resists) to get to the 15% damage node?

Sentinel means 2 points for 10STR, 10% All Res, 24% Armor (and Evasion if you are running Iron reflexes or not Unwavering Stance). Totally worth it.

Imo the answer to your second suggestion is definitely not. It's 3x6%+15% damage which translates in 33% or 8.25% per point which is very low. General rule for ratios is above 12% per point good, 12% okay, less than 12% bad. This is the tree I aim to have in a couple of levels (86), if you pay attention there are no points under 12% and even the 12% always give something extra or are in the way to achieve something bigger.

Also with resolute tecnique be aware and avoid those accuracy nodes.

I don't think so man, I've been following this build for awhile if you're having that much trouble try using molten shield with increased duration, as you follow the build you'll get increased duration for End. Charges passively and once you have both on at the same time you should be fine.

First of all let me express my personal opinion about res and res nodes:

Do no confuse lvling with reaching "end-game" (complete all Quests and start maps) with late build options (over lvl70-80), these are 3 different things.

You do suppose to get the res nodes as you are leveling, so you have some resistances from the tree and thus don't have to spend too much on gear to have your res capped.
Once you reach end-game and your build is 90-95% complete, most people try to get more res stats on their gear so they can respec a few res nodes in the tree, in order to use those nodes for more "useful" stuff. You can keep using 1chaos pieces and all the res nodes if you like, but that's not the way to optimize your build...
Also at around that point (or once you star getting into higher lvl maps), people start looking into respecing BM to use Auras, since that is one of the ways of boosting your survivability/damage output. Again this is just an option, other people keep BM and do just fine. By this time you should have gained enough experience with the game to know what you (potentially) want to try out (Auras, Vaal Pact, respecing UnwaveringS, and so on)!
Finally in the later stages it's all about gear, 1chaos pieces won't cut it if you want to play really high-lvl maps (>75). This is the point where you probably have "really good" gear pieces and a "meaningful" upgrade usually translates to a 10ex+ piece...

Finally chaos res is nice to have, but it's kind of a luxury in some sense. As with other resistances you should try and have the highest value possible, but because this is a type of dmg that only few monsters (inc Bosses) use and because gear with high Chaos res are really expensive, this tends to be not so much important as the three Ele res.
You should aim to have at least a positive Chaos res in the late end-game imo.

Marohi is a popular Unique weapon and a decent one, still not the only option ;)
The maces you linked are not bad, you can perhaps spend now something like 2ex for a 350DPS piece to "get by" and postpone the purchase of a really good weapon, or go strait to a >400DPS weapon if you can still play with your current.

Don't expect to get 10ex from dropped currency. In late Merciless you should be able to find gear that can sell for a few chaos (if not more), hopefully expensive Uniques too. Also use the chaos recipe for useless rares over ilvl60 you find ;)

Like eladir said, 6% dmg is too low for spending one node, there are probably many better dmg nodes you could take ;)

The CwDT gem is a very useful gem, and it helps keeping your EndCharges up without having to manually spam EndCry or WarlordsM.
Other useful things that can be linked to it are curses, totems, and other "utility" gems (Molten Shell, Immortal Call etc).
Personally i don't like ImmortalC on my CwDT because it keeps consuming my charges "for no reason", if i used this skill i would cast it manually whenever i needed it.
Also be careful at the lvl of the CwDT link, lower lvl gem means that it will cast more often but you can link only low-lvl gems to it, higher lvl gem means it will trigger less often but you can use higher-lvl gems with it.
I use these two atm (gems on the 4L are "new" and not lvled up fully yet):



*Also a reminder that i have two crappy ~300DPS maces for free if anyone can use them. You should be able to find something better for a few chaos and you should prefer that option, still if you are broke you can have them:

I think I can have a decent deal 5-9 chaos.

I always find it really hard to see what is worth alot and what is worth nothing.
Most of my items I sell to vendor.

Even though I made a shop and use the script system to set it up.
But if no one buys it the items will be a chaos recipe or something els.
